• Disclosure.
  I am a retired Police Officer. I served in a British Colonial Force for almost 30 years.
  First, my deepest respects to the murdered Officers and my most sincere condolences to their respective loved ones.
  Secondly, I give thanks that whilst I was serving we had both politicians and the Judiciary supporting us. Make no mistake, any contravention of the Law or Police Orders resulted in the sky falling on your head. On the other hand, any assault or injury to a Police Officer whilst he or she was in the execution of their duty resulted in more than the sky falling on the heads of the perpertrators. The result was that when the Police arrested anyone, there was never any aggravation from the public. They knew we were upholding the Law. They knew and could witness that we were acting within all legal bounds.

  • I am a soon to be retired Police Sergeant in California. I appreciate what you have done. I am angered at Politicians and race dividers that encouraged this action. Those two young men could have been Police Anywhere, and they were killed by a racist who appears to have believed it was okay to gun down police officers in cold blood. I have worked for many administrations, most support the police, but the more liberal this state becomes, the more rights are given to criminals, the less to Officers and none to the victims which is the real tragedy.

    America use to be proud, stand up for rights and generally did what was best. Not any more, We are well on our way to third world status with warring tribes because of politicians who believe they are gods above men, and want to encourage the divide to control every aspect of our lives. Sad to think I may be a witness to the end of something wonderful, The country that was America. A country now run by fascists in the mold of evil we fought to defeat in the past.

      • Here s something to pass along, we did this for a couple of Sheriff's deputies killed in Northern California. Have a Christmas candle holder (plastic with a single bulb-electric) with a blue bulb in the front window till the night after the funeral.

        • That was near where I live. 45 year old father of five. Former NYPD. Some POS shot him and then crashed his car trying to get away. 23 year old "transient". Happens to be Hispanic. No declared motive that I've seen.

          There was a machete attack in California. 17 year old attacker. I believe the cop will be okay.
