I wonder how much trouble I would get into if I launched a bottle rocket attack on those drones.
I have some of those fireworks mortars, I bet they would cause some damage to the drone. Then again so would a 30-06 if I dressed like a ninja and fire from below a tree....One well placed shot and poof, a small pile of burning junk.....
They sell those mortars at the store a mile from me, they have some altitude, and pack quite a punch!
Think of them as "FLAK"....throw in a few screws and boom, the drone goes down...all you have to do is screw in the screws to the paper mortar before launch, the powder will spread them out for you....I spent a lot of time growing up altering fireworks to see what happens...In some cases it is really cool, others didn't work so well, like the rocket that is too heavy, falls over and goes zipping across the street into the neighbors garage where the neighbor is standing and having a beer.....after the explosion his pants were wet, he said it was beer....Maybe, maybe not, but my father "explained" the error of my ways in a manner I didn't soon forget..:)
Yeah NSS, I had (ahem) friends who used to do things like that when I was a kid.
Of course I would never (admit) do things like that....although I hear if you cut the shot from a shotgun shell, tape a heavy ball bearing on the primer and throw in in the air, I hear it makes a loud boom when it hits the ground.
Tried that, didn't remove the shot, but put the shell in a pipe and added fins.
Then there was the taping an M-80 to the top of a model rocket engine with fins attached. It really flew far!
Remember, back in the day, firecrackers had actual decent powder loads?
We used to take the powder from the duds and make M-80s with adding machine tape rolls for the case. Blew the end off a 2x4 redwood bench with one of those.
Ah, memories.
There were farm kids who used to get "Gopher Killer's" basically an upscale M-80 with a two foot fuse to put in Gopher Holes. The holes could break legs of horses and cows so there was an actual need to eliminate them (I used a 22 rifle which worked really well) But of course you give a 12 year old farm kid a bag of 100 super sized M-80's and some wonderful things could happen. I made many a five gallon bucket launch into the air. They were also waterproof and looked cooler than hell when they went off under water..I really need to write a thank you note to the U.S.D.A.....By the way, do not put gases from a cutting torch into a large hefty bag with a fuse attached...the explosion can remove windows from the house across the street from the high school auto shop...back then it was stupid, today I would be in Gitmo as a terrorist....ahhhhh childhood.
Ah, yes! The M-80s in the water are surely cool! Better yet, if they were floating, the geyser of water shooting in the air was awesome!
The acetylene in the bag trick sounds cool, my version was a paint can with the bottom folded in slightly to form a ridge, add water to one side, carbide cannon fuel to the other, fuse hole in the side, cover can, shake, light fuse, BOOM!!
