Poor, uneducated, unemployed, basement dwelling, welfare, couch potato Creepy Crawley just don't get it. Let me try to enlighten the poor boy a bit, a tough job to be sure.
Using my state, New Mexico, as a very good example of how goverment consumes wealth instead of creats it I'll state a few facts.
NM has 250 public employees for every 1000 in private emloyment. (The national average is about 170 versus 1000)
Government employees in this state average about $6000 per year more in wages and benefits than employees in the private sector.
Because of the high public/private ratio NM workers pay some of the highest state and local taxes in the nation while wages remain low. This has resulted in the state being listed as one of the 3 poorest states in the country for close to the 100 year corporate greed nonsense Creepy keeps harping about.
NM has one of the highest per capita poverty rates in the country, with over 30% of the population getting some kind of government assistance. The last time a major industry located here was in the early 1980's (Intel) because of corporate and business tax rates and regulations. No major player in the world market has tried moving here since.
Come on Crawley, explain to us how corporate greed is destroying our economy instead of government greed. Explain to us how corporations that build wealth and create jobs are bad while government, which builds nothing but poverty, is good. You can't have it both ways. It has to be either job creating capitalists of job killing government, which is it?

My sister and her family live in Albuquerque. To your point, my brother in law works for the DOD out of Kirkland, his father works at Los Alamos (gov't physicist), and my sister is a public school teacher. All are clueless and my nieces, who are high school age, are hopeless when it comes to the reality of actual living.
The government steals wealth and that is all that it does. Until the NEA and all other teacher unions are forced out of the school systems, the average child will not hear about the true and basic fundamentals of the US Constitution. There are only certain things that the federal government is suppose to be able to do. Yet it has acquired more and more power for itself since the beginning of the 20th century.

Hyper-inflation here we come, which will trigger a massive world wide depression. Thus one of the reasons "Dear Leader" is making gun grabbing his top priority, the peasants will revolt.

The idea that being in the private sector means you are greedy and being in the public sector makes you altruistic is dangerously simplistic. There is no sign over the entrance to the public sector to the effect of "abandon all self-interest ye who enter here." There are altruistic, other-centered people in the corporate world and there are greedy, self-centered egomaniacs in public service. Anyone who doesn't realize this is either naive or a liar.
The difference is that the government greedy often mask their self-interest under a cloak of altruism. Corporate crooks have a harder time doing that. People are naive enough to buy the former.

What's dangerous is when the private sector masks itself as an altruistic public sector entity like the Federal Reserve. Something Corporate Greed has been doing for 100 years.
The private sector masks nothing. They are out to make a buck. Sure there is greed involved. That greed builds companies which build corporations which employ millions. That greed also builds yachts, private planes, resorts, hotels, restaurants and many other services that employ millions. Capitalism made this country great. It's greed coupled with a strong ethical work force developed the highest standard of living for the common man this world has ever seen.
The public sector with it's huge, monstrous, wasteful government and all it's entities like the DOA, the DOE, the and every other department of whatever you can think of, the EPA, and numerous others including the Federal Reserve which have become enemies of and attempt to control the private sector because of progressive influence. It has a strangle hold on the private sector and is destroying jobs. The governments meddling from milk subsidies to our inflated currency can not remain propped up forever. We fed the monster that will eventually destroy us with our own tax dollars. It has gotten so big and so wasteful that we are trillions of dollars in debt. Those kind of numbers are astronomical. Can you not see that that "government greed" is the problem?
