          • History has proven that affirmative action and every other Great Society program has failed at a cost of $15T. It isn't ideology that leads to that conclusion it is the unchanged poverty rates, much higher unemployment rates in minority communities, rampant teenage pregnancies (and abortions), failing schools, generational welfare, drug abuse, and learned helplessness at the hands of charlatans who pretend that they are on "their" side.

          • Let's turn the question around. What evidence do you have that homosexuality is right? There is validity in the statement that sex was first for procreation, and later for recreation. Everything procreates. It is a basic biological drive apart from mental analysis or debate. And the pieces don't fit together in a homosexula couple to procreate. Period. Having said that, Homosexulaity has been around for a great many centuries. Most cultures (not all) considered it an aberration. And despite our best effots, we have not yet identified a chromosome, or a square on the genome that "causes" homosexulaity. Many homosexuals are "in the closet" for most of their lives, sometimes ALL their lives, marrying, having children, behaving as heterosexuals. So I have to conclude that it is indeed a choice, I can certainly admire a lovely woman but the idea of gettin in bed eith her is nauseating (sorry guys) and does nothing to turn me on. And while most guys s*it a ring aound themselves about giy homosexuals, one of the most consistent male fantasies is 2 women together, preferably with them included. All that sounds very choicy to me. Generally a society views issues of right and wrong by one yard stick. What does it do to the society as a whole? If it is negative, those behaviours are squeezed out, and some are eventually codified into either religious or civil law.

          • I think that you may agree that in most cultures sexuality is always around men. What do I mean?

            300 was accused of being homoerotic however Charlie Angels: Full Throttle was never accused of being lesboerotic (even though it could have been perfectly said). It is a movie for men because of the hot chicks doing hot things. 300 was still for straight men because of the violence and actions, but gay men can claim it as an erotic vehicle for them.

            No matter what type of male (heterosexual or homosexual or whatever) sexuality is always about the male likes and dislikes. If men want it for their sexual pleasure (again regardless of being straight or homosexual or whatever males) it is going to happen. Why are there plethoras of ED medication or pills but where are the meds for women sexual dysfunctions? When a woman does not function well sexually she is hysterical or frigid or whatever, but when a man does not it is the woman's fault and if it isn't then ED (and others) pills are fasttracked so men don't miss out even when they are 80.

            An 80 year old man having sex with 18 year olds (Hugh Heffner) is totally fantastic and something all men aspire to, an 80 year woman .... ewwwww gross right? Women really don't aspire to that, they hope to be with someone that will be a companion to them but to expect sexual gratification at that age will make her weird.

            Prostitution is the perfect example. Straight men and gay men can have male and female prostitutes at their beck and call, however it is a bit difficult for straight women to find male prostitutes (that are not gay or bisexual and work EXCLUSIVELY for straight women) around. Porn is for men primarily always.

            No matter how we slice it sexuality is for men (again no matter where their sexual orientation takes them). If a man wants something sexually he is going to make sure it happens. The sad part is when women oblige and they are in all truth just tools in the matter. So conversely sexuality can be very demeaning for women. A woman is a whore and a slut but a man gets a nice italian name for the work of prostitution (gigolo). If a woman commits a sexual sin she is dirty and a whore and a slut, but men committing a sexual sin with that same woman is a MAN. It is always okay for men to be sexually active with as many women as possible, those SAME women are whores and sluts.

            To insult a man use female sexual adjectives. Just saying...

          • 100% true Kimmy! The only reason women got Birth control pills was so men did not have to use a condom to prevent pregancy. The continued spread of AIDS across the globe is based in men continuing in high risk behaviur, and refusing to use condoms. In Africa, if the wives try to use a female condom, she is disgraced and beaten. Turn on any of the afternoon trash shows. Guys who had sex with any number of women, but are now denying even the possiblity they couldhave parented the child (and the women aren't much better-5,6, and more partners all up as possible fathers of the child.) And until very recently, if a woman had sex with a teen boy, it was ok, nay applauded. Fathers took their sons to prostitutes as a right of passage. God forbid they should teach their sons to honor and respect ALL people, even those pesky women!

            Whether to act on it or not does present a number of choices, and a lot of that depends on how tolerant your relations and community are. Closets offer some emotional and sometimes physical safety.

It hath led me to make many questionable decisions in the past, and to imbibe overly in the Fermentation of Grape and Barley and even potatoes or whatever grim substrates the Russians can come up with in their frigid climes. Also the impulse occasionally some source of irritation in the Wife, but that is merely a matter of continually refining my game.

          • My personal beliefs dictate that homosexual BEHAVIOR is sinful, however I have great respect for those that have homosexual mentalities but choose (out of love of Christ or whatever other reason) not to engage in the behavior. However with all of that said, people can be as gay as they want to be, I just don't want to have to see it nor explain it to my children why two men are kissing with tongue in the park as we walk by when the children are not old enough to understand it. I am irked by heterosexuals pairs doing that, it disgusts me. I have no problem with others sexuality as long as they keep it private as it should be. It is a personal issue and I dont need to be all up in someone's sexual issues and others don't need to be all up in mine.

It is fantastic and wonderful in their personal lives (in their homes), however in public places it is utterly unnecessary and in my opinion vulgar. People who respect themselves will understand what I mean.

          • nature itself shows that homosexuality is wrong. the reason for the 2 different genders is to procreate. recreation is a human benefit. if one looks to the animal kingdom one sees that same-gender humping is one way of establishing dominance, i.e. dolphins. Also, only when in overcrowded conditions and lacking abundant food, do rats turn to same gender intercourse expending their internal frustrations, much as jailed individuals will do.

            As for my reasoning, maybe I am some sort of a moral relativist. I don't believe in hurting people who have done nothing to hurt me, and that's where my morals come from. I never read the Bible until I was well into adulthood, then I did it just out of curiosity, wondering what all the fuss was about. My morals are my own, I don't need any ancient text to tell me what is right and what is wrong.

            I think most heterosexual men are governed by a repulsing instinct when it comes to gay men.. Its natural, but shouldn't lead to repression of gays. Nothing wrong with that.             But it disturbs me that you may feel i'm morally lacking. I'm not even a relativist. I freely cast aspersion upon the slavers of olden times. I detest the brutal, backwater, tribalistic cultures that infect the Muslim world, and consider Western Civilization vastly superior (what i'd like to see our troops doing in Afghanistan is securing the education of their womenfolk, even if it means posting up at schools. What a glorious statement that would make.. if we're going to be lingering there at all)

          • Wow, I didn't use any reasoning for the decision. It's just how I feel, and the point I'm making is that religion wasn't involved in it at all.

            I have plenty of friends, both male and female, that are homosexual, and I don't feel that they are bad people. I can understand the lesbians, that seems logical to me, I have the same preference. I don't understand the males, but it's not my job to understand them.

            As far as nature demanding that people be able to reproduce, I never had any interest in reproducing, so that is a non-issue as far as I'm concerned.

            cops, prosecutors, jury, and judge would not exist. why? because there would be no Authority. There would be no standard. Even relativism would cease to exist because there would be no right, and no wrong.
            You may say that even without God men would somehow govern each other but that is erroneous, mankind would merely exist in a constant state of what we would consider brutality and cruelty because THEN darwin's survival of the fittest would be the model, and each man/woman would be a mere brute.

          • @RobertW seems like we're debating on terms, i guess. If I break into a car in my neighborhood every night, i'll eventually get caught (assume i'm stupid). I will be arrested, tried, and imprisoned. That seems "binding" to me. I may not understand some nuance of the word, in this context, but it seems clear to me that if the cops, prosecutors, jury, and judge were all non-believers, the process would still move to completion.

          • Easy. I determined, for myself, that male homosexuality is wrong, a long time ago. I had no religious upbringing of any kind, and I am not now a religious person. Yet, I feel that it is wrong.

            Do I discriminate against gay men? No. Do I hate them, want them to die, or be denied the same rights that I have? No. But for me, it is wrong. Nothing religious about it.

            In other words, not all morality comes from the Bible.

          In comparison, whatever Obama's got in those books must pale in comparison. I will grant odds on this wager: Obama peacefully leaves office in an orderly transition of power, like so many Presidents before him, in either 2013 or 2017, mostly remembered with either pity or contempt.

          • It is true, however Hitler's politics were crazy and he did not do or say anything that was meant to empower people or to help mankind. However like I said true that in comparison his life was perharps more "interesting" than Obama's.

          • Perhaps Obama will leave peacefully, but if he is not re-elected in November, the entire country will descend into chaos for a period of time. His posse (real and imagined) will be pitching a fit if he is voted out.

            The quote above in the story is true it is detestable to see a U.S. President who has no love for this country whatsoever.

          • Even THAT wasn't true when he wrote the biography! His biography sounds a lot like my growing up years except my parents were hard working American patriots and didn't abandon me to be raised by my grandmther. Wow. Fascinating story there!

  • I am convinced that Obama didn't write "Dreams from My Father". If he did every other word would have been "uh" or "um".
