Tell ME about it. When we'd finally got back to Texas my daddy made sure us kids got every volume. And we needed it after California. People actually LAUGHED at the way we spoke. well, laughed at us kids mostly. Thinkin on it after all these years I think it was because we used Texas and Arkansas idioms with a Califorked accent. In Cali they thot we talked slow, in Ft. Worth that first couple years they thot we talked blurry-fast.
I had a mix of Texan from my Mom, and deep Mississippi from my Dad. Moving every 2 years or so didn't help any!
that's a lot. we generally went 3 to 4 years, and Daddy had a while to go till retirement but it was given that they'd not transfer again. so from 4th grade thru half of 5th we lived in River Oaks, then mid 5th to graduation we lived outside of Azle.
In my first 13 years, I lived in Texas, Mississippi,Alaska,Missouri, And Colorado. Then we retired here in San Antonio. I've done lot less travelling since then!

That would change the whole dynamic of electric cars, if they could carry their own nuclear power source instead of batteries that constantly need recharging. I have no idea how large a footprint the nuclear reactor is in a Navy warship, but I'm fairly confident it wouldn't fit in a Tesla.
We'd have some pretty cool little mushroom clouds to alert us to an accident up ahead if we could get those reactors small enough.
