Electric Cars Are Now Being Targeted For Overloading The Electric Grids During An Energy Crisis. Go woke and your battery will choke.
The alert comes as the Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) called on residents to conserve energy. They have asked the state’s residents to refrain from using electricity from appliances and more to stop the grid from being pushed to near-emergency conditions.
Tesla stepped up to help the state with a new in-car alert to owners in the state, encouraging them not to charge during peak hours.
“A heat wave is expected to impact the grid in Texas over the next few days. The grid operator recommends to avoid charging during peak hours between 3 pm and 8 pm, if possible, to help statewide efforts to manage demand”, an in-car alert sent to Tesla owners reads, as reported by Electrek.

Anybody else see that story yesterday about the young lady and her electric car nightmare? She's in college I believe and she wanted to demonstrate her love for the planet so she bought a used EV for $11,000. Two or three months in it stopped working (and when an EV stops working, that doesn't mean it works poorly or makes weird noises or performs poorly or blows black smoke out the tailpipe, they just STOP and flash red messages at you), whereupon she towed it to where she purchased it and learned that it needed new batteries and they would cost $15,000, more than she paid for the car. Already a nightmare, right? But it got worse, because it turned out nobody was supplying those particular batteries anymore so she can't get replacements at all. She's on some sort of long waiting list and owns a car that can only be used as a paperweight.
Yep. Some of them can hit $20-25k. I can buy a lot of gas for that.
Greentards are slowly but surely turning the U.S. into a third-world country. Isn't it interesting that the two cleanest forms of energy production, hydroelectric and nuclear, are verboten? Don't come to me, greentards, with your silly worries about carbon when you at the same time are dismantling hydroelectric dams and refusing to allow nuclear power.
Look at Germany. They closed their coal and nuclear plants, their solar and wind suck, and Putin screwed them on natural gas, so now they're advertising "Warming Centers" this winter for when the power goes out and your house is -20.
