Democrats, leftists and particularly those that call themselves "progressives", lie, they lie all the time. They are evil and believe that their ends justify any and all means. Their ends is a two tier society with them at the top .5% controlling all others.
Yes, in 2009, she said that probably in expectation of nomination. No need to give the dark side any ammo unnecessarily. She assumed her position on SCOTUS in Aug 2010.
You see, it's okay to lie to the infidels - that being people who refuse to accept the True Religion, the one that believes in global warming, global cooling (pick one as needed), wealth distribution, special rights for preferred groups, etc. I think they call that al taqquiya. Or is that someone else? It's so hard to keep track of all the fascist groups.
She said it during the confirmation process after being nominated to be Solicitor General. She was, by all accounts, the worst Solicitor General the United States has ever had, having zero experience in courtrooms and that particular position being all about performing in courtrooms. That's what the job is, going to court on behalf of the federal government. Nevertheless, being gay and politically left of Mao, Obama rewarded her poor performance by nominating her to the Supreme Court.
Another case of promoting the inept, to a new level of incompetence.

That is why we need the Newspeak Dictionary, to translate the Constitution into the words that the enlightened "know" what it was supposed to say.
Well- if the Constitution has been nullified since she made that statement then she could make some claim of not full deception... and much liberty has been taken over the interpretation of words where "state" means other than the fifty united "states", what's to say that "constitution" and "constitutional" are subject to alternate interpretations as well and are in reference to something other than what we generally think?
Well, of course "state" means the federal government, and what we have to say, means nothing, as well as the Constitution being made to look like it was written by uneducated, racists and bigots, who could only want to hurt minorities and the alphabet soup crowd, so we must rewrite the document to give all the downtrodden extra rights to make up for all these years of oppression.

Revisiting this because I respect and agree with the gist of your response... no- she doesn't deserve a break, what she deserves is a lot of company in dealing with the blowback from using deception to get in... but of course we know by now that being deceptive is a resume enhancer if you're a progressive.
There's a bigger picture that this is part of and it needs to be kept in mind. She's a criminal in my mind, but not the only one. She is only part of a larger performance troupe acting out a post constitutional America.
Well- yes, but I'll take the interpretive prerogative to define what "break" means and what part of her is to be broken.
I think my sense is that she's just a cog in a larger problem- albeit a critical one. She's something that progressives and RINOs have infested on us when it seemed fairly obvious that this type of "judgement" is what's to be expected.
I'm merely filtering a rather non-surprising revelation of judicial deception through a track record of bureaucratic usurpers whose agenda she is and will be abetting.
