The dismal state of the economy is the main reason many companies are reluctant to hire workers, and few executives are saying that President Obama’s jobs plan — while welcomed — will change their minds any time soon. We love how they had to throw in the “while welcomed” part. It is as if they can’t decide what to fear more. Obama’s ineptitude, or his retribution.

I'd love to meet one of these companies that 'welcomed' - this plan. Just one.
At the risk of setting off the gung-ho Randites, it really does seem like we're in the "Atlas Shrugged" world, where business is choking itself out of fear of the rules changing day by day, where a tax break now will come back and bite you in the ass tomorrow: "Oh, well done, Mr Capitalist, you hired 5 new employees last quarter. Lot's of good tax breaks there for a small business. However, with those 5 new people, you're not a small business any more, you're a big business. Big fines and penalties for not giving your employees big-business level benefits. Sorry."
That pretty much sums it up. A one-time tax credit is NO motivation to hire. Only people with no business experience would suggest that is a good idea in order to increase hiring given all of the other realities put in place by this administration.
