In turning down Keystone, the President has uncovered an ugly little secret that has always lurked beneath the surface of environmentalism. Its basic appeal is to the affluent. “As the Forest Service used to say, the person who built his mountain cabin last year is an environmentalist. The person who wants to build one this year is a developer.” Obama is for the one percent!

If your gonna be an environmental wacko, then you need to live in a mud hut, poop in a hole, eat what you can find, make clothes out of leaves, stop driving your car, using a computer, throw out the cell phone, give away all your possessions and set up camp in South America in a jungle. And stop having children to contribute to all the environmental ills. Unless they are willing to do that, I am not about to buy into their massive bullshit. You wanna live like a caveman? Fine.....don't expect me to move in next door.
BINGO! The environmentals don't expect themselves to live like it is 1899, they expect everybody else to.

The attitude reminds me of the joke about the snobby lady who responded to survey, "Why should I care what happens to a bunch of farmers? I get my food at the supermarket!"
And its so true. How many times have we seen extreme "greenies" who want us to basically live as if it were still the 1800's. They don't like ANY alternative to electricity production. THey simply don't want anymore attempts to produce it at all. And if the affluent really cared a flip about the environment, those early talks of wind and solar energy would be well in place right now. After all, its been 40 years! But they simply can't make enough money off of alternate methids, so . . . .nothing.

In 1894, London had about 50,000 horses running cabs, busses, and privately owned carts, wagons, etc. Each horse produces 35 to 50 pounds of manure per day. That's 875 TONS of manure dropped on the streets of London EVERY DAY, or about 320,000 tons per year. And that's using the 35 lb number, so it's the best case scenario.
Needless to say, each horse did not have someone following it everywhere with a shovel and scoop. So the manure sat there, attracted gazillions of flies, dried up, turning to dust and getting blown around.
Everything is a trade-off. Sure some things were simpler, and in some people's opinions, better then. But a lot of things weren't. But it seems the greenies forget about them.
Well, most do. Some others of the more extreme ilk will tell you, in an occasional fit of honesty (generally a rare event), that the world would be a better place if a few billion people died off due to some plague.
So in the former case, no one should listen to them because they are a bit challenged in the area of logical thinking. In the latter case, well, I'm far from religious, but I'd still call that just plain evil. Maybe we can send those characters off to live in a pristine wilderness somewhere. I'm thinking ANWR.

...though it's hard to decide which would be the price and why: $5.00/barrel because supply is greater than demand or $38,500.00/barrel because that's what fools will pay.
