• ESPN is PC central, & as a brand, they have fallen off in a big way. They have become the establishment, & have become predictably stale.

  • Yep, haven't watched Sportscenter in years.

    • The only time I watch ESPN is for NFL Football. Otherwise, they have nothing to offer.

      • Some of their golf coverage is very good, & they do broadcast a large portion of US National team soccer matches as well. But I really don't care too much for them anymore. Too PC, too much hype, & it's become so hacky, it's hard to watch.

        • I have the Golf Channel, and I hate soccer, almost as much as I hate basketball, which is somewhere below hockey in my book.

        • My sports veiwing habbits are really not mainstream.At least in the eyes of ESPN. That's why I like the NFL Network, NHL Network, Golf Channel, FoxSoccerChannel, & so on. I can get exactly what I want, more or less, when I want it.

        • I'm waiting for cable to offer ala-carte programming. That way I won't have to filter through hundreds of channels I never watch, like the Spanish language, Asian language, etc, etc, etc, channels.

        • Hell yeah. If ala-carte becomes a viable option, you will see the cable tv landscape just flip. So many channels would have real trouble gettingtheir programming out there. For example, who really watches Bravo? I have watched 2 programs. 1 was a documentry on Swedish supergroup ABBA, & the other was a documentry on Icelandic singer, Bjork. About 3 or 4 hours in over 20 years. I have no use for that channel, & many others. Many feel the same way. It's time to make ala-carte a reality.

        • My wife watches that damned Bravo, and Oprah Winfrey Network, whatever channel those damned annoying Real Houswives and Kardashians are on.
          I hate those shows.

        • I'm looking for ala-carte so I can get all those "sports" channels out of my package. I don't watch men play with their balls. And Speed needs to go back to it's roots. Show me the kind of racing I used to see. Semi-trucks, go-karts, Australian jet boats.

    • Same here, & now, with the specialty sports channels like the NFL Network, the NHL network, the Golf Channel, & Fox Soccer Channel, I don't have to sit through endless stories on the NBA, MLB, & college sports I really don't care about anymore.

• This isn't going to go over well with the Go Fast, Turn Left, crowd. Not that I watch that crap, I've found paint drying to be far more interesting.

• Got to get the beer,fast food,and "Big Oil" sponsers off the cars too.
  You know how much damage those things do.

• I'm watching the race and all this nonsense didn't stop the fans, the stands are packed.

  • The NRA stuff is already sold out. Twitter has been going off on NASCAR and FOX. The announcer finally said the NRA 500. Short time ago.

  • Just thought I'd update this: no further word from NASCAR. So they "take my feedback seriously" but apparently not seriously enough to answer it. Maybe they received so much "feedback" they're backlogged. I hope so.

    • No response here either. Same with Fox. The local TV station did send me a reply saying they were kicking my letter up the food chain.

• I think NASCAR needs to be reminded who their majority viewers are. I wouldn't worry too overly much about a couple of metro sexual sports casters and some rich old drag queens running a failing media outlet.

• I love the comment from the track. CYA indeed. NASCAR has been making a lot of bad decisions the last few years, irritating the very people who comprise the fan base trying to appeal to northeastern liberals and such, and this looks like another example of them shooting themselves in the foot... pardon the metaphor, hope I didn't offend anyone by using the word "shooting."

• Doesn't matter to me, I don't watch NASCAR. I shoot guns.
  I haven't watched car racing since Wide World of Sports quit broadcasting drag racing.

  • They would love to hear this, I did a job for someone today in trade for a gun!
    ESPN would have a kitten if they knew that!

  • I watch NASCAR for the crashes. I watch Formula One for racing.

    I did send them an email though.

• Eddie Goosage has it right. The mouth pieces are looking to cover their asses and are to cowardly to stand up for what they know is everyone's right. Sidekick is correct, if the sponsor where Planned Parenthood would they be so vocal or would they all claim its a woman's right to have an abortion. No where in he US Constitution or in the Bill of Rights does it say a single word about abortion. It does address the right of the people to own a firearm.

  • Yet again I see some here got the TD. That is fine and to be expected. However if you do give one, why not state your reasons and convictions for it. I do with the exception of Crowley. When its a lost cause, no need to waste the keystrokes or the time.
