Europe Considers Wholesale Savings Confiscation, Enforced Redistribution

Europe Considers Wholesale Savings Confiscation, Enforced Redistribution. Time to start hiding your money in the mattress? You can bet Obama will love this redistribution idea.

CO2Insanity: Tired of the CO2 BS and all the other BS in the US and the world.

  • "Banks have complained they are hindered from lending to the economy by post-crisis rules forcing them to hold much larger safety cushions of capital and liquidity."

That means the central banks have been printing billions and billions of euros and trying to delay the inflation.

  • Socialism a failure in economics and freedom.

There have been ideas like this floated here in the past. If this begins to gain steam and support. Watch how quickly everyone will liquidate their investments or move them off shore.

  • Obama is gonna have to see a doctor after reading this, his erection will last way more than 4 hours....

  • This is about unelected technocrats who are in no way accountable to those they rule over. That is the EU, & if they start seizing people's bank accounts, having cash won't matter. You will see "authorities" introduce a new currency & have you exchange you old money for the new money, & for a price. They will also record what you brought in so they know what you have, so when they come calling again, you can't say you don't have what they you have. If that happens, you will see a serious run on precious metals on that side of the Atlantic. Either people around the world will stand up to oversized wasteful nanny state gov'ts or they will be subjugated by a power hungry political class. I hope to see a serious backlash to the EU, much like the Tea Party, & for freedom to exist, it has to happen.

    • You just described what many people did during the depression, but left out the "government outlawing private gold ownership" part.

  • I can sum this up in a single easy to understand equation, Socialists = Thieves. Now they want to take your life savings to buy votes with.

  • . “Long term investments to boost the economy”

"Because all our other financial experiments have been so successful."

  • “the savings of the European Union’s 500 million citizens could be used to fund long-term investments to boost the economy and help plug the gap left by banks since the financial crisis..."

There's an awful lot of cronies in the EU. "Long term investments to boost the economy" = we're gonna take your money and give it to my pals.

    • “Long term investments to boost the economy” = we’re gonna take your money and give it to my pals.

"So they can save it for their retirement, which is what you were doing, but we know how to do it better than you do."
