• It proves once again that there has been no vetting of barry, he cant even pass the E-Verify. So we now have an unemployable person in the White House running or ruining the country. I prefer the latter.

• There should have never been any question as to McCains citizenship what-so-ever. His father was on active duty in the Navy at the time of his birth. It is my understanding that children born to members of the Military are in fact U.S. Citizens. Two of my children were born overseas and there has never been any question at all about their citizenship. I had no trouble at all getting them social security numbers. It was a ploy to get McCain to shut up because it would have been very easy to get all the idiots that voted for this A**HOLE to believe McCain had a problem with citizenship. Basically democrat voters are very stupid people.

• At the very least, this is a severe indictment of the E-verify system.

  Funny thing is, I've always known he wasn't qualified to work for me, but our own government even tells me he couldn't legally do so.

• Why am I not surprised? He's hid every aspect of his personal life from the public already which sent up a red flag to begin with. But, I'll be accused of not liking him, which I don't. Hawaii didn't issue the kind of birth certificate that he has at the time his was supposedly issued that one either. He's lied so many times, it's a wonder anyone would believe another word that he spits out. • I bet the media know Joe the Plumber's E-Verify status.

• I hate to rain on everyone's parade but unless we could get SSA to tell us what the "discrepancy" is this doesn't prove much. Is it odd? Oh yea! However it still leaves his camp "plausible dependability". They could claim he was issued a new number after he released his on on those tax documents and his selective service registration, or a unicorn ate the original or you hate black people. Sorry they will claim the last one regardless but you see my point.

  That is the frustrating thing about this, you can only chase it so far until you wind up at the mercy of some court house or Federal office that won't cooperate.

  I firmly believe part of why this ever was allowed to happen is that McCain's citizenship was precarious enough that this turned in to a "I'll scratch your back if you scratch mine" deals.

  Granted it seems to me that when on his US Senate paperwork when asked if he had used other names or aliases and he said no that little bit of perjury should have disqualified him from being a Senator, dog catcher and most certainly President. But you see how far that went.

  • Sorry, in the instances you specify, the SSA KNOWS that there is an issue. I got an approval on a gentleman who had a new SS number due to identity theft. I entered his new one and it validated him. I entered his old one and it returned a notice to contact law enforcement due to identity theft issues. THEY KNOW!

    • Thanks for the info. The SSA may not tell us what it is, but we know what it is not.

  • Is a 0 initial number social security number reserved for persons not born in the US? For instance, I live in Texas. Many of our numbers are in the 400 range.

    • No, mine begins with 0, as do my wife n kids'. I believe it is common for east coast/northeast.

      • A SSN is based on what part of the country you are born or apply for the number. I'm from New Jersey, mine starts with a 1.
        My wife is from New York and hers starts with a 0
