  • Still laughing when the Edge got denied that building permit off the Pacific coast. This just adds to the so called Socialist mentality, make them pay, but not me.

  • Well, when a rich liberal says "let's raise taxes and make the wealthy pay their fair share" they really mean "let's raise taxes on everyone who's too stupid or poor to hire lawyers to find tax shelters for them." They KNOW that they have them - few of these SOBs can actually count so they gotta have somebody else to manage their daily lives for them. So in public they posture about taxing the rich and helping the poor while behind the scenes their attorneys are making arrangements to move all their money to Costa Rica.

  • Surprise! It's another liberal hypocrite. I don't blame anyone who tries to legally minimize the taxes he pays; but please, don't turn around and preach to me about my need to pay a "fair share" to the government.

  • If you check closely, only a fraction actually goes to the cause they claim it's for. Most of it goes to hugely inflated salaries and perks for the chosen few at the top of the pyramid!

  • I think Taxation = Oppression. So do I blame people for trying to pay less taxes? Nope. What I don't like is the hypocrisy of govts having to take care of the ills of the world (truly the taxpayers) whereas this fool is not committed to pay "his fair share". Pathetic.

  • I said: "You must pay a lot of taxes". She said: "We don't pay taxes. Only the little people pay taxes."
–Elizabeth Baum, former housekeeper to Helmsley (October 1983)
True throughout the ages, the world over.

  • They all avoid taxes whenever they can. They all hire a battery of legal people to avoid taxiation wherever & whenever they can. Does'nt matter who you are talking about, they all do it.

  • Ah, "Bono", AKA Paul Hewson, Irish nobody, who gets full marks for hypocrisy with his "don't do as I do, do as I say" philosophy. Eejit.

  • I'm thinking Ireland, which has been hurting, could use that big U2 tax revenue. I found an article which discusses this matter.

My brother and I saw U2 in 1987 in Lexington, Kentucky. That was on their "Joshua Tree" tour which was the only U2 album I ever bought. I would think that album would be considered in the top 100 all time.

    • I think U2 got all the fame that should've gone to Marillion. The double whammy of "Misplaced Childhood" ('85) and "Clutching At Straws" ('87) made me scream, "Why the hell isn't this band friggin' famous?" Meanwhile, everyone was making a stink out of U2. I just didn't get it. I found their stuff uninteresting.
