Failing Black College Students Demand to be Passed Due to Racial Events. So based on those recent racial events white, Hispanic and Asian students should all get a pass, too. Oh hell, just give every college student on the planet an A+, there’s always something going on.

Just about any HR person out there is going to see through this affirmative action rubbish, these clowns better not expect any calls from Fortune 500 companies.
Sounds an awful lot like lowering the standards for graduation. I think I'd be looking to hire the graduates from a college with higher standards. Same with entry standards. Affirmative action? No, I'll look elsewhere.
This is insane.
I don't want to sound mean, but a lot of people including minorities should not go to college, they should go to community college for an associate degree at most or to a technical school/college and learn to do a technical job that has an apprenticeship program and a remedial science/math in case they need it. I am talking those that came from awful school systems especially regardless of the color of their skins, but we all know that minorities students especially have this issue.
If they want that job, they need to learn whatever they have to learn that the school was deficient to teach and the circumstances in their lives did not assist them to do so. I mean it is not easy getting into a good college and getting into a good college from overseas is not easy either, it shouldn't be, so I don't understand why are people with deficient knowledge and skills getting accepted into any college? They get accept because they are black and because they "deserve" to go to college... what? :-/
There is nothing wrong going to a technical school and learning skills to get a good job, sometimes it is dangerous and therefore pays VERY WELL. What is wrong with that? There is no shame in that whatsoever. Not everyone has to be a four year college graduate with a masters or a doctorate for some those are lofty goals that they can't get, not everyone needs to be in liberal arts and not everyone has to be a doctor or a lawyer or professor.
I did well in school and in college, but considering the job panorama had I been advised fully or better I may have considering doing something technical AND pursue a higher degree at a later time if I felt I wanted to. All these people with great debt and they are not cutting it in college it is a shame.
The people I know who went to trade school are out there right now, welding, driving trucks, and operating computer networks. The ones who went to college are flipping burgers if they got lucky.
There are a lot of jobs across at lot of industries. I was thinking about taking welding or something else but I decided to get into medical administrative field. I have to take things as I can afford them to avoid getting into debt but it is worth it to have other skills even with a bachelor's degree on anything. As time goes by more skills one acquires one can go higher and higher and so on.
All in all sometimes things work out but other times they won't so having something to fall back upon is not a bad idea. They should advice that in school and college
You are so right, Kimmy. I got a Bachelor's in nursing, after getting my LVN so I could earn the money for my degree. My Nephew works for AT&;T and makes nearly twice what I ever made. My kids were on reduced cost or free lunch when I was working full time!
Kimmy you have made the argument for school choice by the parents. Your points are accurate and to the point of what is truly wrong with public schools today. Until the oppressive public school system is reformed, the situation will not improve. Tenured teachers are the very cause of this issue. From elementary all the way to post secondary, the tenured instructor has the ability to spout what they wish and they can't truly be punished (fired).
There are solutions but people are not learning of them or they are being lied to... there is too much going on
Back in the late 60's a book came out called The Sheepskin Psychosis. It addressed exactly what you are saying. Parents wanted the kids to go to college,because back in the day they got better paying jobs. Not so true be the 60's and getting worse every year.
Right so things change and that is fine so now people just need to accommodate.

My older daughter's college roommate was on a free ride scholarship from China on a tennis scholarship. She carried a translator everywhere because she didn'really speak English. And this was a 2 year college.
As a hiring manager, let me say that if any recent college grads' resumes were to cross my desk with any of these schools on them, I'd reject them out of hand. Especially Oberlin.
The thought has to cross the minds of those who hire is when they see someone who went to a college that had quota requirements, is that did this person go there on their merits or at the expense of someone more qualified. Many may very well prove themselves worthy, some may not. I can't be good for those these affirmative action policies are meant to help.
Generally speaking, the quality of the resume tells me everything I need to know. I don't mean the applicant's job history or experience but its lay out, composition, spelling, etc.

So then you get to graduate and you still can not spell, write, or think. How about a participation trophy instead? It is the more liberal thing to do anyway. You get one just for showing up and you can drag it`to job interviews (sarcasm) or you can hold it while sitting on the porch talking about "White Privilege" and how da man is holding you down and you can't get a job. But in reality you can't get a job because your White liberal instructors gave you a degree you did not earn and you can not get a job because you have no marketable skills, so then you get welfare and section 8 housing and the cycle repeats itself over and over. All the while you lord and master, the democrats look down and smile, knowing LBJ was right.
Cry me a river. Get over yourself. There's a "university" in the state capital of KY that has a very lenient grading policy. Most of if not all of its graduates have a very hard time getting real jobs.
Same type of attitude there too.
What's this one going to do when they are at a real job (if they can get one) going to do when there's a dead line to be met? How will they handle having to do a report that must have proper English and sentence structure? They'll cry racism and expect to be catered to. That's one of the very reasons most still live in poverty and are still on the plantation.
They'll just attend a protest and tell the boss they need more time, because they were doing something more important than earning their paycheck.
