Which, come to think of it, might very well play into what Calypso Louis has been after all along.

  • Wrong, Farrakhan. WWII, we had police & military. Right after Pearl Harbor was bombed, Hirohito wanted to invade the mainland with troops on the ground because the military was thin and in chaos at that point.
    His advisors talked him out of it, saying that if they invaded America, there would be a gun behind every blade of grass. WE THE PEOPLE prevented that invasion - not the police, not the military and not the government.

    • The guns he wants confiscated are the legal ones, that would leave the majority of the guns in the hands of criminals and his followers.

      • Looks to me like confiscation of legal guns, and we all know that's the only ones that will be confiscated, is a racial thing. They want to disarm YT, and leave all the illegally owned ones alone.

  • Hmmmm... How about if we said that the 13th amendment was outdated? See how that works, Louie? Amendments are generally made because they are good ideas. They are not made to be broken later on down the road when different people come into power or when public sentiment changes. (Lets not think about the debacle of the 18th, OK? we fixed that eventually.)

    Oh, and by the way, Louie, the constitution does not GIVE us our rights. It only explains what our inalienable rights are, and stops the government from treading on those rights. So, the 2nd amendments is not why we get our guns - its why YOU and your buddies cant TAKE our guns. There, wasn't that easy to understand?.

      • Or anyone else on the left and a surprising number of conservatives. Actually, when you look at the reasons for prohibition, it made a fair amount of sense. It just didn't account for people like the Kennedys who were trucking in black market booze and making a fortune. According to the original ammendment, people could still make booze at home for their own consumption. Lots pf people started brewing their own beer and making their own wine. And where do you think the term "bathtub gin" originated? But (surprise) criminals saw a way to make money and there we were. Sort of like after we are all disarmed, the criminals will have everytype, model and size of weapon and ammunition, while we will all be sitting ducks for the various forces listed who ARE armed.

  • Okay Louie, let's start getting rid of guns by disarming your security guards. It would be a good start and have the beneficial side effect of reducing the Chicago homicide rate.

  • Apparently having a bow tie too tight can really cut off the blood flow to the brain. Louie belongs in a care home, where he can bitch and moan all day long outside on the patio by himself and no one will care what he says there either.
