I get them all the time. Not political, but still, it pisses me off. And you don't even get to scream at the asshole, like if he was calling you.
Hmm...I'm of split opinion here . . . I don't get a lot of the stuff, and I've never seen political stuff. As long as you're not getting hit with charges, I'm not sure why it should be a big deal. Friend of mine uses a pay-as-you-go plan, and even HE has free text messaging!
One of the dingbats at the article said, "This isn't about free speech at all, it's about advertising." *sigh* Probably an O voter.
Still, it does seem there should be a way to block the stuff, or invoke that "no-call" list or something.
Text messages from the Obama campaign or any other hopey-changey unicorn-based organization will NOT be covered, I wager.
