While I am not in favor of people with mental problems having guns, (See Newtown), I think there needs to be some common sense used here.
I know, government and common sense are incompatible terms, but thankfully this court realizes that safety needs to be tempered with sensibility.
I also believe that if someone made a mistake many years ago, and may have a single felony conviction on their record, that their subsequent behavior should be taken into account when deciding if they should be eligible to own a gun.

  Well you can be batshit crazy and vote, drive a car, have kids, marry a small appliance, and become a lawyer......this guy has been okay for a decade or two, why not let him own a gun? In Kalifornia, you can vote even if your a convicted Felon (after prison) and you can even be in the legislature as a convicted Felon....At least this guy (and many more like him) once had a problem, got over it, and moved on.
