FedEx Refuses to Ship CNC Machines To Gun Enthusiasts. So is UPS. So who needs Obama or Congress or the Supreme Court? Hell we can just have FedEx and UPS make shit up for free.

“We are uncertain at this time whether this device is a regulated commodity by local, state or federal governments. As such, to ensure we comply with the applicable law and regulations, FedEx declined to ship this device until we know more about how it will be regulated.”
1) this is NOT about ALL CNC machines. This is about one specific machine designed to make one thing AR-15 "bodies" (upper? lower? dunno).
2) considering the hysterical state of the Union, and especially a an out-of-control and capricious DoJ, I don't blame FedEx for not wanting to be a future named co-conspirator in a Soviet-style show trial.
As I said before, the parts are available that this machine makes. They are legal to own and finish the machining.
If the gun parts are legal to own and machine, AND they ship by USPS, why would the machine be illegal or restricted? The answer is IT ISN'T!!
I see both sides of this. If we changed the location and parameters, what would the reaction be if a store in Ferguson, MO sold a gun in a fancy package labelled "for killin' da whitey"? While they have that right, it *is* inflammatory. Now, up to that point, the speech is free. Now when they try to drag in a third party, that third party may be reluctant to add their imprimatur to the attempt to twit authority -- and now we can see why Fedex refused. Regardless of their opinion on the matter, about half their customers would be PO'ed, and they don't want to take a 50% hit in business, nor should they be forced to. Throw in the chance for some criminal to say that he did his crime because he was encouraged by the clever packaging to break the law, and now Fedex is on the hook in a lawsuit, and they have much deeper pockets than some two-bit operation out there stirring sh*t up.
We have the right to free speech. We even have the rights to be a jerk about it (depending upon your perspective) -- but what we don't have is the right to force others to participate in it.
That, in a nutshell is what is so appallingly wrong about the LGBT people forcing a store to sell them a gay wedding cake, or forcing a minister to perform a gay wedding ceremony.
The sad thing is that people no longer have any idea what the word "tolerance" means. It means that you gotta put up with it, but it doesn't mean you gotta participate, approve, or enjoy it. If the bakery is willing to take a 50% hit in business (or whatever it may be), then it should be their decision. As long as the store owner isn't actively harming people, she has a right to sell (or not to sell) to whoever and whatever she wants.
By that same token, the customers she refused have an obligation to put on their big man-panties, and go down the street to the bakery that *will* sell to them -- tolerance works both ways. You can't tell me their life would be ruined by one person who they vehemently disagree with not wanting to be forced to do something that says the contrary. The more shrill and loud they get about being offended, the more they begin to show that they aren't being harmed by this lack of transaction -- they're just another garden variety outrageist, trolling for a payout at the expense of society at large.
What is perplexing about this is that the end result of the bakery example is that now the store owner has valid reason to actively hate them. You cannot win someone over to your perspective, whatever that may be, by contributing to their financial ruin.
You gotta wonder what people are thinking.
Fed-Ex, the same company that hauls hazardous materials all over the country? I bet the secretary of Transportation or Eric Holder's goon squad had a conversation with the management at Fed-Ex.....
It's even funnier because there are literally thousands of similar items available online that don't advertise as being used for building guns, and nobody has a problem with that! Also, you can buy the part of guns that need the machining completed to make the gun, and they will ship those parts through the post office!!
Depending on the weight of the CNC machine, maybe the post office will ship them. They're desperate for money anyway.
Good thing they didn't refuse to ship a gay wedding cake!
You can actually get in trouble for that!
Exactly! Time to sue for discrimination!
Sorry! Gun-owner is not a protected victim class!
doesn't seem to matter.
That's funny, because they ship all reloading supplies through FedEx and UPS, including powder and primers.
That's probably how they know you're a gun enthusiast.
Time to start doing business with DHL
