  • He also keeps lowering the threshold of what it means to be rich... Soon, merely having a job will be defined as being rich in his world (mainly because, hopefully, he won't have one for long!).

  • So Obama wants a tax increase to stimulate the economy but states the recession will be over before any tax increases will take affect. So splains to me why we need the tax increase if the recession will be over??????? If you forget all that and just say it is to pay down the debt, explain how we spend 40% more than we take in and then expect to pay down the debt. First you have to stop deficit spending (assuming you don't reduce spending - which is most likely) which means we need 40% more revenue to offset the spending. Ain't that one hell of a tax increase without even touching the debt? Then tell me why I should keep investing in things that I will have to pay a larger tax on. I will just shift to tax shelters so revenue from me will actually decrease. Obamanomics seems to forget for every action there is a reaction and when it comes to economics the investor will always opt for the upper hand. You don't raise revenue by raising marginal tax rates. You raise it by getting more input to the tax base, you know, more people paying into taxes rather than drawing away revenue via unemployment. For those in DC us commoners call them JOBS. You should try one some time.

    My head hurts.

    • "Don’t forget, the recession ended 15 months ago – June 2010, so raising taxes now is perfectly prudent."

You should change it to: ended 15 months ago in Washington, DC.

  • He said YOU don't raise taxes during a recession. Meaning it's OK for HIM to raise taxes during a recession. Pay attention. Details matter.
