Remember those heady days of progressive protest when Abu Ghraib was the worst scandal in the history of the Republic? Back when progressives told us that taking photos of prisoners in their underwear was far worse than any atrocity committed by Saddam Hussein? Back when they said the commanding officer must pay for the crimes of his people?

Never mind. That was back before Abu Ghraib commanding officer Ricardo Sanchez announced that he’s also a progressive and interested in running for Kay Bailey Hutchison’s seat in Texas.
The National Journal has the sordid story:
It looks like the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee’s secret recruit in the Texas Senate race has been unveiled.
McClatchy reports that it’s likely none other than former Iraq commander Ricardo Sanchez, who was forced out of his military post in 2004 after the Abu Ghraib scandal. Sanchez retired from the military in 2006.
“I would describe myself as during my military career as supporting the president and the Constitution,” Sanchez told the paper. “After the military, I decided that socially, I’m a progressive, a fiscal conservative and a strong supporter, obviously, of national defense.”
Barney Frank has already requested that Sanchez be put in charge of all future Senate photo sessions.

To a progressive, the Abu Ghraib fiasco was George Bush's fault. Sanchez was just another victim.
Danybhoy, you've got the right take on all of their (the progressive left's) BS. When a person pokes you in the eye with a stick, you can do a couple of things; you can sit down, put your hand over your eye and cry like a baby; or, you can pick up a knife, sword, or gun and cut their f%$@ing hand off and if that doesn't stop them, you may want to cut their f&%#ing head off as well! The days of coddling these libturd babies are long over. No, it's time for the woodshed and it's time for all of the other neighborhood kids to come watch dad give little johnny the whipping he so richly deserves! I not only want to watch, I'm going to be throwing rocks!
Thanks hisham, & I must say that sometimes it just feels good to get it out of your system. I'm always more then willing to play nice, & I want to. But I also have no problem with throwing down either, & if down correctly, it serves a purpose.
Amen!
Sanchez is only running so he can attempt to clear his name for being a sleep at the switch. Let him support barry in TX, we've seen and heard what he thinks of the state of TX.
His running is an attempt by the liberal left to portray themselves as being pro military. Jim Webb of VA found out about that and is leaving the senate after being used and abused.
Trying to get along with the left by being nice & kissing their a$$ never works. They will knife you the first chance they get. That's why I'm always willing to offend them by not buying their BS. They are gonna hate me anyways, I figure I'll give them a real reason to hate me.
Ain't it fun! I write a column for our local paper every week and I have been called anti education, anti progress, anti helping the poor, anti hispanic even though I am part hispanic, anti about every liberal nonsense you can think of.
The funny part is the people calling me all these names are the elected elite, school administrators and welfare patients in our little town. I live in a very small town so I have to be carefull at times, I don't want to burn my informants, but a lot of people talk to me because they know I do not talk out of turn.
The people that talk to me? The teachers in our school. The local cops. The little folks working for the town or county, just trying to earn a living. The small business owners who have to deal with the town, county or state to stay in business.
Who do I raise hell with? The school administrators. The county sheriff. (I live in a very rural area, all we have is county cops taking care of law enforcement.) The mayor of the town and our county commissioners. Our state congressman and senator. Our new governor, even though I like Susana Martinez. If she hangs tough we may get New Mexico headed in the right direction again.
You might try the same thing where you live. I started out writing letters to the editor and people liked what I was saying so the owner gave me my own column. Selling his newspaper is his business, I am helping him because more people by the paper to read my rants, he pays me about $100 per year! I have three subscriptions that get mailed to my grandchildren and a baby sister and that is covered by the editor.
Obviously I do not do it for the money, I can afford to pay for the subscriptions. I do it for the fun and to get people thinking about what our government is doing to us. The editor also prints letters to the editor from my critics but like he says, in this case negative press is better than no press. It means people are reading the paper and starting to think!
Sounds like Muslims.
