Someone from the Gawker is probably the POS DTing here...Can't wait till one of their own assumes room temperature..I hope it is soon...
I have to be real... only knew him as an actor so I was surprised at his Presidential bid. Learnt that he was in the game for a long time. In any case, I am glad that he served his country and that he had a full life and I am sorry that he passed away and I hope his family finds peace.
I really liked a lot of what he was promoting on his platform. He kind of fizzled in the debates though, didn't he? That's probably an even greater reason to like him. The fact that he seemed to shirk away from the spotlight and the 'look at me' media circus the debates have become; that reflects some true character in my book. I enjoyed his acting to boot.
He woulda made a great president. RIP, Fred...
My hat's off to you Mr Thompson. You were a true gentleman, and an honest politician, in a world where that is an all too rare occurrence.
My biggest regret is that you didn't get the GOP nomination in '08 and trounce King Barky.
I think I have narrowed down the down thumber.
If you look at the times of NSS post and my 2 posts, and compare them to bluesjunky and MGAP's posts, it seems our DT friend has a bed time.
DT an obit? I would list the usual suspects but they are disabled being liberals and would claim Stupified Immunity....
I liked him. Great guy, good actor, great politician, and everyone who ever dealt with him said he was a regular guy, loved his old pickup truck...RIP Sir.

What really upsets me is that we could have had Thompson in office, but we have hacks like this running for president:
