The fundamental contradiction of the Democrat Party starkly displayed. Yesterday in Selma, a billboard visible from the famous “Bloody Sunday” bridge welcomed President Obama, while the other side of the billboard honored the founder of the KKK.

  • Forrest “the Wizard of the Saddle" was a military genius and a fearless fighter. General Sherman said, "I think Forrest was the most remarkable man the civil war produced on either side. His opponents were professional soldiers, while he had no military training. He was never taught tactics yet he had a genius for strategy that was original and to me incomprehensible. I couldn’t calculate what he was up to, yet he always knew my intentions."

    • i know. that's kinda what i was thinking as far as the folks who went ahead and placed that ad. it might've been a wink-wink acknowledging that fact - their racism - between themselves, just sayin'.

we're definitely a multi-media society, deliberately making provocative statements in an "innocent" public sort of way.

interesting, to say the least, from a sociological angle.

  • When Obama reads about this is the paper, the F.C.C. will start regulating billboards.

  • there perhaps was a bit of irony in putting that billboard up. the people who paid for the one opposite welcoming Obama have a twisted sense of humor... or were posting a warning of some kind.

whether they knew about the welcome ad on the billboard, i wouldn't know. but placing the historic BS billboard ad had to be planned for a bit of a knee-jerk response, if nothing else.

it is embarrassing, tho, in either respect.

    • Their favorite denial is that the Dems of then are the Repubs of today, and vice versa.
You and I know it's bullshit, but they can ease their guilty conscience that way.
