Gallup: Most uninsured ignoring healthcare exchanges

Gallup: Most uninsured ignoring healthcare exchanges. “…relatively few uninsured Americans (18%) — the primary target population for the exchanges — have so far attempted to visit an exchange website.” What if they wrecked the healthcare system to insure the uninsured and nobody came? Well, stay tuned, because they did!

Bonfire of the Absurdities: After 35 year career writing software for IBM mainframes, am now self-employed contractor thinking of joining a union and striking for higher wages. Cured morbid fear of heights when I learned to look at them as lengths standing on end. Uncompromising in refusal to accept browser cookies. Amateur investor who has accumulated a small fortune in the market after starting out years ago with a large one. For recreation, I run, hike, kayak and play tennis but will not consider synchronized swimming under any circumstances.

  • This was predicted. Yet those who are not signing up, sure as hell voted for quagmire and wanted everyone else to be forced to give up what they had to help out everyone else.

    • That's the liberal thought process. "Let's give everything to the poor, as long as we don't have to pay for it."
Now, they're wondering WTF happened, because they're on the hook for this, just like everyone else.

  • Well, then... Looks like they will need to be forced to sign up at gunpoint.

Leftism always gets there eventually. Might as well be today.

  • No surprise here, most of the uninsured in this country took one look at the vastly inflated premiums and decided they'd rather pay the fine.
Besides from what I've been hearing, most hospitals aren't eligible under the ACA anyway.

  • They didn't do what they did with the intention of insuring the uninsured- they did it to undermine and weaken our health care system- they only told us that they intended to insure the uninsured in order to vilify any opposition.

    • You are right, their faux compasion is to deflect criticism. The real goal is to have control over this sector of the economy for all the graft they can get out of such largess.

  • If these uninsured people show up in the emergency room, will they be turned away? Of course not. So then why bother getting insurance when we are going to pay for them either way?

  • What the progs seem to forget is that they have no clue what are all the motivations of millions of individual people. No one does. The pathologically altruistic libs think they are helping when they do stupid crap like the ACA and the totalitarian progs just want people to shut up do as they are told because they know better and it's easier to amass power when the populace is compliant.

  • "Well it is clear now, most uninsured are racists and extremists."
