Bonfire of the Absurdities: After 35 year career writing software for IBM mainframes, am now self-employed contractor thinking of joining a union and striking for higher wages. Amateur investor who has accumulated a small fortune in the market after starting out years ago with a large one. For recreation, I run, hike, kayak and play tennis but will not consider synchronized swimming under any circumstances.
Oh, gee! Christmas is over, the returns have been returned, and the annual slow period in deep winter had arrived! And just like I said in December, the jobs are vanishing. DUH. NOBODY could have seen this coming! (sarc)
A friend on FB was singing Obama's praises in December. "Look at how the unemployment has gone down!" I mentioned that it was due to seasonal temporary hiring, and would go back up in January. She asked if I was so negative about it when Bush was President. I posted, "Yes, as a matter of fact, I've been thinking rationally for decades now."
Fantastic!
Chalk up another one for The Precedent! Hopefully, he'll be out of a job soon, too.
