• Doesn't the Earth's water cycle do that completely on its own on a global scale already? Just sayin'.

  • I believe that the Earth has already all that it needs to repair itself when things get difficult. Since we lack the ability to see in the future the outcomes of our actions now, even if we mean well, I really don't think that we should be making plans to repair the Earth with things that can have unwanted results. We shouldn't add to issues which we know makes things worst for the Earth (we SHOULD do what we can to keep the Earth as clean as possible and prevent overuse of resources and so on), but trying to save the planet with crazy stupid things that the Earth already can do on its own is a waste of time, resources and people.

• They're going to need a hefty pump to make that work. I'd say something in the eleventy gigapound range at the bare minimum. Wonder how much carbon deficit an eleventy gigapound compressor puts out? What are they planning on using to fill that blimp with? Greenhouse gas?

    Not so insane an idea, volcanos do it all the time. The particulate is (if memory serves me) sulfur dioxide- the same thing that is pumped out during an eruption. Read chaper 5 of the 2nd Freakonomics and it'll explain it in short detail.

    Mattero' fact, read BOTH Freakonomics- dryly funny and QUITE informative. Two of those books that the Liberal establishment chooses to ignore.

• Actually, I read something a while back - can't recall the name- involves a semi-skeptical climatologist who does think we're doing kinda bad things but rejects the hype and One People One Planet One Leader solution which the Warmingologists (Orthodox) always seem to come back to. Wow. Lost that thread of the sentence. Anyway. His notion was to do essentially this, with aircraft and I think it was SO2 particles. He was immediately shouted down by said Warmingologists, largely (it was thought) for a couple reasons: 1) it would actually work 2) it was cheap 3) it required virtually no economic redistribution (aka "theft"), totalitarian command economy, or banners calling for some sort of "justice" to make it work, and 4) it pulled the rug right out from under the feet of the entire hierarchy of the Church of Warmingology, up to and including the Right Platitudinous Pope Gore the First (or is that "the Nothingth"?).

  So as ideas go, this may not be a bad one, but the execution is ludicrous.
