• What did Ford say to GM?

  • Saw in the Chicago Tribune yesterday...GM sales are up while Ford sales are down. W.T.F.???? This country sure has its share of really stupid people.

    • Ford is largely fleet sales, but the Focus is doing real well, Chevy is mostly people replacing the POS that died after 3 years.

      • You'd think they'd wise up and buy something else.

        • But no. I heard a thing on TV where they reported that if the cars were recalled and money returned, most would simply buy another car, perhaps thinking the company would now be extra vigilant about safety issues. Personally, I think its about money. The cars haven't been paid off, so they receive no cash. I figure they offer some hellacious deal for rolling that loan over to another GM product.

        • They are most likely Obama voters. I know someone that voted for him and did a Cash for Clinkers deal, bought a Chevy.

        • So the Low Intelligence, Large Forehead crowd turns in their old car for a few bucks, and then buys a newer version of their clunker for thousands more because President Lady Pants said so? Not only is our dear leader a great gun salesman, he can also sell cars..He missed his calling....I bet there is some snake oil company out there in need of a salesman...

• And when you listen to GM they sound just like President Lady Pants...Their new president blamed a "rogue" engineer for the ignition switch problem..sounds just like the rouge IRS agents....And the engineer said Bullshit, it takes an entire village to screw up a car...:)

  • So they only have 1 engineer in the reasearch, design and development of the ignition switch? If you believe that, I have some excellent beachfront property to sell you close to El Paso.

    • Rose. I do believe that the IRS is currently selling the very same property at the moment. You may want to be careful.

      • You may be correct. I heard they confiscated it under eminent domain from The pilotsof the Mexican chopper accused of shooting at the border patrol agents

    • If they DO have a competent engineer working for GM, it's a well kept secret.

• Bad enough to have a car built by union workers that have been brainwashed into "getting even" with their employer for all their perceived ills, but then have a car built my government workers.....that are in a union. Not me!!!!
  Thank goodness we have other choices....at least we do currently.

• Another stinging endorsement of Government Motor's quality levels. Damn glad I didn't buy one.

  • The newest GM vehicle I ever owned was a '70 Chevy pickup. Great old truck. They SURE as hell don't make them like that any more.

    My lady owns an '05 Saturn Ion. It was part of the original recall, but they never did come up with parts to make an appointment. It's now sitting in Bakersfield, with a rod through the side of the block at 130,000 miles. Never again.

    • The newest GM vehicle I ever owned was a 1977 Monte Carlo. It was a decent car, before that I owned a 1971 Chevelle and a 1971 Lemans, which was the GTO with a different trim package. I loved those 2 cars. Since then, it's been all Fords.
      Maybe GM needs to consider changing their slogan to "Total Recall".
