We suggest a new advertising campaign themed “Only Dolts Buy Volts” with video of people like the President, Barbara Boxer, Barney Frank, Anthony Weiner, Nancy Pelosi and other Democrats buying a new one (with their own money).

I feel sorry for GM. They must know by now this car is a painful loser, but they also know Obama won't let them end the suffering.
Imagine that. You make a POS of a car and we the American people don’t want it. Will the UAW layoff any of the line people who make them? Or, will they try and get the current occupant of the White House to issue an executive order forcing people to buy them?
Dammit people, get your TRUTH straight! Production is being suspended because the factory CAN'T KEEP UP WITH DEMAND! And it's NOT FAIR that not everyone who wants a Volt can get one, therefore NO-ONE shall have one!

Who wants to buy a car that costs more money than some people make in a year, explodes on command, has a total charge range of 40 miles (45 miles, if you buy the upgraded version), pollutes more than a Louisiana politician, and is given tax credit status (kind of like disaster aid after a tornado) for the first time fish, ready to swallow the snow job, lock, stock, and barrel?
When you have to bribe people & companies to buy these turds, you know they suck. What this will do is make the Obama regime will try to make energy even more expensive, forcing Americans to buy these types of cars. Keep this in mind when you pay $4-5 a gallon this summer to fill up.

It isn't "demised" yet. GM is saying three week shutdown. The hint will be when it publishes its 2013 model year planning volume. If it is substantially less than this year, then it will be only a matter of time before GM kills it.
Right. They halted production in December to address the automatic pyrotechnic display feature and brought the line back to life February 6th. Now, not quite 4 whole weeks later they temporarily freeze production. Thaw out date to be announced. shnork!
I look forward to reading the PR spin when they do kill it. Somehow they have to declare victory. That will be some epic bs.
I'd love to see an honest and complete breakdown of what this little boondoggle cost us.
Let's recap: Monday El Presidente promises to buy a Volt, Friday GM halts production. GM must have figured that this was a sort of negative endorsement, and that the auto-buying public would conclude that anything BO would buy must be a piece of junk.
Ah crud. That means Obamie is not getting the care he so richly deserves when he leaves the office this year. :-(

Obama’s PR people should be fired immediately for letting him wade into this fight with Limbaugh. This is going to be a PR disaster for him. With ALL that is going on, THIS is the issue he decides to personally involve himself in? Telling that silly whore Fluke he’s got her back?
What about the economy, multiple foreign conflicts our troops are engaged in, skyrocketing deficit, rising gas/food/clothing prices, imminent war with Iran, raging unemployment…

Since this is the wrong thread and the sleep demons kept me awake last night, I have a question for my friends. 3 am and the classic 2001: A Space Oddity (whatever) came on, being wide awake and having never seen it I gave it a go. If it's just me, what am I missing, or is that one terrible movie? A classic? Trivial things bug me after being awake so long.

I'm not a movie snob and kept telling myself to keep it in it's time frame, wasn't waiting for the explosions, t&a and blood but sheesh. And Alien answering my 2001 question has me giggling, I need some sleep.
The end always left my doltish ass wondering why the big let down. After whacking HAL it seemed like it should have done something I could understand, or maybe just appreciate. No. Everybody I that ever really liked the end was tripping or so far gone from reality anyway that it was like they were always tripping. I have the movie. I like to watch it until I fall asleep. It does a good lullaby for me. Now, that 2010 thing sequel works even faster. I put that on and fall asleep immediately.
Agreed its a good sleepy movie.. I really love falling asleep to old Twilight Zone episodes too (not that they are boring, just comforting in a lost age kinda way)
