Why would they have had to fly him back to the US? Doesn't Switzerland have a wonderful government run healthcare system?
No doubt the crash was caused by global warmimg, a.k.a. climate change. Now if it can incapacitate a few more numbskulls at DOS and the WH we will see a significant improvement in US foreign policy.

Love it! So the motorcade ( complete with doctor and paramedics ) follows this asshole on his bike rides. Then they decided he needed a helicopter ride to the hospital even though he was conscious and his life was never in danger. Nice carbon jackboot print ya made there Lurch!
I hope he continues to wear his helmet with the strap loose like in the pictures ( one pic it is cocked forward, another it is cocked back = loose strap ) next time he just might sustain a debilitating head injury when the helmet falls off.

I think thats an old Rabobank team helmet. I actually have the same helmet in white/gold trim. It's predecessor saved my life when I wrecked in 2011. It broke in two places right at my temple. Giro also has a nice crash replacement policy in which they give a pretty deep discount on a new helmet.
He's had a "debilitating head injury" since he cut himself opening a C-Ration can and put in for a purple heart.
Query: Can one "sustain a debilitating head injury" when there is nothing inside the head to debilitate?
If he'd fallen on his head there wouldn't have been any damage.
