Guess who else wised up. Democrats decided to put God and Jerusalem-is-the-capital-of-Israel back in their party platform after removing them earlier. Trouble is, LA Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa railroaded the change through on a voice vote that clearly didn’t carry the motion, showing that even amongst themselves Democrats aren’t fond of democracy.

Republican primaries have been notoriously brutal affairs last few cycles. Its the nature of their coalition. Ron Paul will never win it, and his son will suffer association by way of the father. Republicans couldn't even pick a guy who hadn't signed an individual health insurance mandate law. This still amazes me.

I think that bird came home to roost on the Democrats -- their attitude that the ends justify the means, and that their war on injustice allows them to do things like recount votes until they come out ahead (and then they stop counting), wives destroying husband's ballots, etc., claiming committing multiple felonies and voter fraud (something they'd scream to the high heavens about if even a *hint* of it happened to them) is "the right thing".
It was really inevitable that their tools of fraud and divisiveness would be used against them. If it wasn't such a scary thing for the electoral process in general, I'd be engaged in some serious schadenfreude right now.
Compare the two philosophies: The Tea Party tries to use the primary process to put in their candidate, giving the people at large a fair chance to veto the outliers, while Obama's people just use fraud. With one system, they have to sell their ideas -- with the other, they just force them on you. Damn scary stuff.

You can always tell when a politician is a hack -- calling for "aye" vs "nay" votes. There is no accountability, and everything can proceed according to script.
In every organization I've led, I've always called for a show of hands. It takes the *same* amount of time, people have to "own" their vote, and anyone present can prove that the measure passed/failed. In short, a politician's nightmare. Then again, didn't they approve the worst demagogue in history's candidacy for president by a vote of "acclamation"?
Regardless, voting at these conventions is just a show, and there's no meaning to any of it. It's just prolefeed.

That vote was a joke. First take was clearly 2/3 NO. Second a little closer but still NO. Then the fat woman comes up and talks to Villigiarowhatever and the third vote was at least 2/3 against and this hack says he hears it as a yes. Good Lord, what a bunch of slimeballs. Obviously they overestimated the stupidity of the attendees. I wouldnt have thought that possible.
