Take flight? The broad in the stiletto high heels up in front is moving at a snails pace, 2 behind me just got hit with fire power. Take Cover? Hide in a corner so he has you boxed in or crawl under the seat where a bum just finished pissing and left a turd and call 911 so the perp can hear where you are. Take action? smear your bagel in his face or throw your gym bag at him and run while he empties a clip on you. These experts just told everyone how to probably get killed. The best way to know what to do in these type situations is to practice mock scenarios with friends and family. Most people won't take the time to do this but it's a way to keep you on your toes in a deadly situation. Police & Firemen practice all the time, that's why they are at the top of thier abilities. Honestly, the best situation is when everyone is ARMED. MOST PERPS ARE COWARDS AND THEY WON'T TAKE ON A SMALL ARMY. They pick the old, lonely and weak.
Next thing they'll be telling us to do is to challenge an attacker to a pillow fight.... an idea from Pajama Boy who apparently has landed a government job.

Well be fair, this is assuming that most people do NOT carry. Yeah, it sounds kinda lame, but unless you ARE packing, it's sure as hell what I'd do.

This is excellent advice if the duffel bag is bullet proof and the shooter is armed with a single shot pistol. Otherwise it may extend your life for a second or two.,
Like I have said in the past: The knowledge that any person, even any ONE person in any crowded room MAY have a weapon for self defense WILL keep a lot of criminals or crazies away from that crowded room. As long as they know that any person who does the right thing to have a weapon, is very welcomed in that crowded room. Only the VERY insane/suicidal will chance it.
Throwing duffel bags and hiding in a room like a b*tch is not a viable solution.

I am ALWAYS armed! At work, I carry a razor knife for cutting just about anything I may need to on the job. It is also a very nasty weapon if it needs to be. Remember the box cutters the 9-11 hijackers used?
And at all times, I carry at least one spring assist opening knife for protection. It is basically a legal switchblade. They can be purchased through almost any online knife seller. In close quarters, there is nothing more deadly than a knife. In fact,. more people are killed with knives than any other weapon. If you know how to use one, they are very capable of protecting you.
