  • OK OK, let's take a step back here. Looking at the clip, yes it's kinda chilling. But let's recall exactly what was going on. From the Blaze: "Protesters showed up to a gun-rights rally in Erie, Pa., with their firearms out in the open—purposely defying a local ordinance that prohibits guns at city parks."

OK, get it? They were engaging in civil disobedience, knowingly and willfully breaking the law as a protest. That's fine, as far as it goes. But let's remember the consequence -- the EXPECTABLE consequence-- of breaking the law, especially as a political statement. Seriously, this isn't snarking -- if you're going to engage in a protest like this, you should be disappointed if you don't finish the day behind bars.

    • However, the wholesale taking of license plate numbers, concentrating on motorcycles (WHY?), is still illegal is it not?

      • I can't speak for this place but here in the People's Communist Republic of Kalifornia, basically your vehicle is out in a public place with no expectation of privacy (like your garage) cops can run any plate they want. There are now license plate readers on top of police cars that scan hundreds per hour for stolen or wanted vehicles. When I was in traffic I use to run plates randomly and because of the amount of creeps here I would often find stolen or wanted vehicles, or cold plated vehicles. I NEVER went to some kind of protest and took down plate numbers...Here that would be frowned upon. Don't know if that helps or not. Remember there is also NO expectation of privacy in public when it comes to recording, the cops can record you, you can record them, I don't have a problem with that at all, but it does vary from state to state.

  • Here is the Color Of Law exact wording from the Federal Statute:

    TITLE 18, U.S.C., SECTION 242

Whoever, under color of any law, statute, ordinance, regulation, or custom, willfully subjects any person in any State, Territory, Commonwealth, Possession, or District to the deprivation of any rights, privileges, or immunities secured or protected by the Constitution or laws of the United States, ... shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than one year, or both; and if bodily injury results from the acts committed in violation of this section or if such acts include the use, attempted use, or threatened use of a dangerous weapon, explosives, or fire, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than ten years, or both; and if death results from the acts committed in violation of this section or if such acts include kidnaping or an attempt to kidnap, aggravated sexual abuse, or an attempt to commit aggravated sexual abuse, or an attempt to kill, shall be fined under this title, or imprisoned for any term of years or for life, or both, or may be sentenced to death.

  • This is intimidation and violation of probable cause-but the intimidation factor falls under the civil rights code section titled "Color Of Law", whereby a government official cannot use his badge/gun/station to intimidate citizens. This is very serious shit. Of course, it is fully sanctioned by the DoJ-but it is no less, Color Of Law violation and is a federal felony!

  • Way off topic but this is what came up when I closed my eyes and clicked. I don't like snap judgements and try not to do it, especially from tv clips. But (that word) just saw 10 or 15 seconds of him and the persecutor in the Zimmerman case is a major Richard, or comes across as one any way. Hope he rubs the jury wrong too.

  • The cops do themselves no favors and lose friends when they run these kinds of operations.

  • I hate the fact that many use the line I'm just following orders. It will be such a relief when I cash in my KMA card shortly and become a retired LE and can then enjoy being just a private citizen.

The brain washing of those who are in LE continues and until they start to think for themselves and stop listening to the PC correct ass holes in each and every department, they will continue to make enemies of average citizens.

People will continue not trust officers for such actions such as this. Then you have the heavily armed SWAT teams with military equipment who terrorizes the innocent. I error on the side of innocent when it comes to dealing with citizens until they prove otherwise.

Damn I sure wish that there was a course required for common sense usage during the academy

  • And the majority of people just sit around and do nothing.

The really bad part is that most of the rally-goers are probably pro-law enforcement. Against criminals. The administration has turned these groups into enemies. The police's hands are tied. They must enforce laws - even dumb ones. The people only see the police - the weenie administrators and politicians would NEVER come face the people, so they take their frustration on them.

And the politicians and administration keep chip chip chipping away at our freedoms. This lawyer might take these cases to court. He might even win. But by the time it winds it's way through our tangled mess of a legal system, 500 other chips will have happened and not been stopped.

    We are in deep doo-doo.

    • I think you are wrong about one thing, cops do not have to enforce stupid or unconstitutional laws. If every cop in town told their boss, the mayor, whoever, up yours, I'm not going to bother these people what are the higher-ups going to do? Fire them? I don't think so.

The lady heard in the video made a good point that the skinheads didn't say anything about. The "following orders" excuse didn't work very well at Nueremburg. Maybe reading a few books on history should be part of the requirements to be a lawman in this country.

      • PFFFFTTTTT!
whiskey you dint say nuthin bout the commie UNIONists being the one's in charge uv whut da cops do.

w/apologies to all anti-union LEOs. You know who you are.

        • That would be me, The union I use to be in only took money every month to help elect democraps in Kalifornia. Non-union and proud!
