It's long past time to return to paper ballots; cheating will continue but it is harder to get away with when there are actual ballots which can be recounted, inspected for alterations, etc.
Yes, paper ballots and I'd like to see the end of the secret ballot, too. As things stand, even when we know there have been shenanigans we can't fix it afterward because we don't have any record of which ballot was for which candidate. Everybody thinks the secret ballot is a constitutional right but it's not. It's just a habit. I think we could keep a record available only to law enforcement during fraud investigations after an election which would allow us to CORRECT fraud when we discover it. "Oh, Hector was not a citizen but he voted, let's see who he voted for and subtract that vote." Right now, even when we learn that Democrat machines dumped a carload of fraudulent ballots into the system, we can't do anything about the actual election results. It's ridiculous.
