• Happy Mother's Day to all of you hard working Moms out there!

• Happy Mother's Day to my mother who left us at age 83 a little over 5 years ago. A blessing in disguise as her health had been declining for years and she wasn't very happy. Her passing did leave a big hole in many hearts among family and even long ago friends. We all love and miss her.

  On the other hand, she would hate to see the direction this country is heading. She didn't trust Body Odor even before he was elected and with good reason. You were right while tens of millions of people kept their blinders on mom, good call!

• We left early this morning and when I got off the freeway at the airport exit mom asked where we were going. I just said it was a surprise. Albu. bro met us and when we walked to the check counter she realized what was going on. We had paid for express boarding, I think that is what it is called, so she was escorted to the plane for her first ever first class flight. The tears were flowing as we told her what we had done.

  Portland bro had arranged for a limo to pick her up at the airport and take her to his house. She called me this afternoon, telling me how wonderful everything was. Then, like I said she would last night, she chewed on my butt about spending so much money. All I could do was laugh and tell her to chew on everyone's butt, we all pitched in to make it happen!

  We no longer have our father, he passed away a little over a year ago. But we still have mom, now 78 and still kicking strong. There is nothing us boys wouldn't do for her, she has always been our guiding light. And tonight, she gets to meet her new great-grandchild! I can't wait to hear from her tomorrow!

  HAPPY MOTHERS DAY MOM! We all love you!

• I sent cards to my Mom and one of them said, I was going to text you Happy Mother's Day but that seemed to impersonal." Inside, "besides, I didn't want you to spend 20 minutes texting thank you."

• When I said happy mothers day to my 96-year-old mom this morning, she said, "Oh," like she was surprised. I have no idea whether she was surprised that it was mothers day or surprised that I was her son. Could be either. Sigh. She's alive but the elevator doesn't go all the way to the top floor anymore. I've still got your six, Mom. You earned it.
