Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
Except the hater! LOL hater you crack me up
The dumb thumber-downer doesn't take a holiday......Must get holiday pay from Soros and his company of goons...
You probably right... It hates having to work perhaps lol
" dumb thumber-downer doesn’t take a holiday"
typically one has to be grateful to celebrate Thanksgiving, ergo, the hater, dumb thumber-downer is an ingrate.
also: probly a minion too.
I still love WKRP, & this episode was 1 of the funniest they did.
Have a great thanksgiving.
I worked in radio stations in my younger days that had people like Herb, and Mr, Carlson and Les...Unfortunately No Jennifer...
Happy Thanksgiving everyone and as a public service.....
Bailey was the hot one. Mostly because she didn't know it.
Jan Smithers was so cute. Even as a kid, I knew I liked her more then Loni
She still is cute.
This one too is one of my favorites. Les Nesman doing the "Hindenburg" report on the falling turkeys was priceless.
Happy Thanksgiving y'all.
Add me to the list of this being one of my all-time fav shows! WKRP was truly funny, without being crude as so many of today's comedy shows are.
Happy Thanksgiving, ALL! Think of me as I work tonight while the rest of you stuff yourselves with 'stuffing' and mashed potatoes, turkey, gravy, bean casserole, sweet potato pie, cranberry dressing, baked ham, pie, cake, puddings, desert coffees and sweet teas, etc., etc., etc.. Go ahead and add your favorite Thanksgiving treat here, I actually volunteered to work for a another guy tonight so he could enjoy a family get together with some folks he hasn't seen in over ten years. I'll move my turkey day to my next day off--Friday! Have a great time!
You are a great person. I thank you on behalf of the guy you worked for, but I sure hope he did it himself!
Happy Thanksgiving Friday!
also, Flash, you're killing me.
bacon-wrapped turkey. INDEED!
EDIT: and smoked no less.
It was might good, too. I'm just sitting down to a plate of leftovers.
not often do i use the same link in more than one editorial comments are but after seeing that, i just hadda do it.
YUM!!!
Ain't that purty? All wrapped up snug as a bug in a rug!
You're a good guy Hisham. I used to work in a rock bar as a bouncer, and we were always open on Thanksgiving night, so I had to work. It wasn't too bad, lots of young people trying to relax after a day with loud relatives!
Good for you. It happens. I've worked on holidays and I have continued to do so, not necessarily for others to enjoy their holiday but simply because to me it doesn't matter. Unless I am in a situation with a lot of family I really don't bother. Today I had McDonald's. I wasn't going to go crazy cooking all kinds of stuff for just me. So enjoy that extra money honey!
When I used to work for Domino's Pizza way back in my college days, I used to have to work on Thanksgiving because it was one of our biggest sales days. I ate a lot of pizza then, especially on Thanksgiving.
Wow! There is a SERIOUS hater of work around here... Must be an Obama voter.
Yeah, I noticed! Some people just aren't happy unless they're hating on something, or someone. Who ever it is, they don't like me, you, poppajoe, oddballz, Flash, Red Robster and Not so Silent. Who could that be??? Hummm. Who did we all shit on, in recent memory?
There has been a few in the past few weeks. LOL
She who shall not be named.
You are a good man. I cannot count how many holidays I worked when I was single and unattached so that others could spend the day(s) with their family's/significant others.
To me, it was just another day, to them.......
Being empty nesters, my wife and I didn't see a need to go all out on a big dinner; since my son and his wife are either in Kentucky, with his in-laws, and my daughter invited my wife to a big family get together with her in-laws. I could use the extra money and she could use the break from all the work that goes into such a big endeavor.
That's how I always looked at it. I can't tell one day from the next. If they needed someone to keep an eye on things on a holiday, I'll accept the triple time graciously.
You're a good guy, hisham. My lady had to work 12 hours last night, and again tonight, so we had our bacon-wrapped turkey, hot out of the smoker, Monday.
Oh man, smoked bacon-wrapped turkey, man that sounds delicious!
Wild turkeys can fly very well. Those butterballs raised for our Thanksgiving tables can barely stand up. Here in a few hours I will barely be able to stand up.
Happy Thanksgiving and God bless you.
We have the wild ones strutting around the RV Park here in Auburn all year, until close to hunting season, when they head for the hills. I guess they don't know they'd be safer here.
Did you ever find my e-mail? I sent it to your rocking horse site.....
You want me to send it to him?
Yes maybe it will actually get there instead of flying off into cyberspace never to be seen again..:)
OK, on it's way.
No, but sometimes my website forwards things to my lady instead of me. If you do FaceBook at all, I'm Flashing Scotsman there also.
Reminds me of the time my boss, the souvenir concessions manager for all sorts of motorsports events, had us fill his custom painted stepvan with helium balloons to release at half-time at the Superbowl of Motocross in the Los Angeles Coliseum.
We had LOTS of work to do the day of the event, so he had us fill the balloons the day before. There we were, in the center of the stadium floor, with a packed crowd, when we opened the back doors of the van, and pushed all the balloons out. Onto the ground. Helium balloons lose their buoyancy if left to sit for 36 hours or so.
I'll never forget the sight of my boss running around in the balloons, frantically tossing them into the air, screaming. "Fly, fly! Fly, you MFers!" Then I collapsed onto the back of the van, tears flowing. I had never laughed so hard in my life.
I wish you had video of that to share!
Me too. It was absolutely hilarious. It helped that my boss was one of the biggest jerks on the planet, and a very excitable kind of guy. I only tolerated his existence because I loved the job, traveling around the country, making more money than any teenager I knew.
Many years later, I worked for him again, during the time he owned Robotic Entertainment Ltd., now known as Wizerdwerks. I'm the operator of the dragon in this video.
I am soooooo jealous. Why can't I ever land a gig like that?
My favorite similar scene is from Married With Children, where Kelly has fallen in love with the turkey they intended as the guest of honor. Yes, she throws it out the second floor window, and I think the camera freezes with this look of absolute abject horror on her face!
Fast Forward nothing! I watched the whole episode!
Thanks, I needed that!
WKRP one of the funniest shows ever. :) and yes StinaM it was my favorite too.
Happy Thanksgiving to everyone. Please remember those who have the feet in the dirt and those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice for us. Just a personal thing, I set a plate for a SEAL team member that I know who gave his life for us.
It was one of my favorites!
I still have a huge crush on Jan Smithers!
Again, you should not feel so all alone.
EVERYBODY MUST GET STONED! :-D
sign me up.
one of my scenes all time was when Dr. Johnny was feeling sick, and Andy asked him how his joints were. LOL
