Hollywood liberal Harvey Weinstein going after guns and the NRA. On the Howard Stern Show, he said he hates guns and claimed he’s teaming up with Meryl Streep to make a movie that will make the NRA “wish they weren’t alive after I’m done with them” and make gun stocks “crash and burn.” Here’s betting neither of those things happens.

  • What a hypocritical piece of shit Harvey is, just saw one of the new advertisements for a new movie called three days to a kill or some such shit, explosions, mass shootings, car crashes.....This is the kind of shit Harvey produces? Fuck him and the fairy princess he rode in on.

        Guns, to the left/statists/commies/etc. are weapons of potential insurgence, something which they won't tolerate. Guns are also a symbol of self-reliance, which is anathema to them because they want reliance & subservience to the all-powerful state.

        • Not exactly. Resourceful people will find a way to defend themselves. Remember this, in Feudal Japan, the peasants developed a weapons system using farm implements. EVERY weapon you see in those karate movies was originally a farming tool.

            Imagine this scenario...if you will [Twilight Zone music, Maestro, if you please]....
            All firearms disappear, along with all reloading components, ammo, etc. they just disappear....

            Since you can't undo knowledge & experience [can't unring a bell, so to speak], how long do you think it would take to remake Francis Bacon's gunpowder formula? Nitrocellulose? Nitroglycerine? TNT? Fulminates [priming compound]? Metal tempering? Rifling? Etc., etc., etc....Maybe a day? A week?

            The point is that ANY weapons ban will be circumvented by the citizenry in no time because defense of self & others dear to the citizen are part of human nature...it's called self defense for self preservation. And for believers in God, there is a still deeper reason, but I digress [as usual].

            It's probably the cause for the ammo shortages we've been seeing lately.

            The strange thing is the shortage of plain 'ole .22 LR.

            I believe that, if the SHTF time comes, it won't be gold that will be the currency of choice, but rather the plain 'ole .22 LR.

            Why? Because that "lowly" 100+ year old cartridge can be used to take game [even deer or hogs, with accurate bullet placement], provide a modicum level of self defense protection, useful for a multitude of other purposes [including teaching your children how to shoot], and everybody has one [yes, even libs, although they'll lie] in the closet.

            The .22 LR could become the "common currency" of the Apocalypse...God forbid, but who knows?

          • You're right about shopping locally, but I don't have any place locally to shop at [see my handle...Huomo is the gov]. The SAFE Act mandates a background check for purchasing "complete" ammo, so there's a paper trail anyway....but NOT on reloading components.

            I've got to travel ~50 miles to the nearest decent gun shop & now you have the gas expense, and I don't drive a Prius.

            Thank God I'm pretty well set, in that I cast, have plenty brass, powder & primers, plus lots of FMJ for "serious" shooting.

            Just sayin'....

          • Believe me, I completely understand. I used to live in NJ, there is very little difference in the oppressive governmental overreach between those 2 states. When I was a kid, my dad had to get a firearms license to buy me a BB gun! I can't imagine having to go through a background check for something like that, but if you live/lived in NY, NJ, and CT, you understand.

          • When I was a kid we'd about shoot that in a weekend in the Sierras.
            I think a brick of 500 was like 5 bucks.

          • Well, you're right, it makes no sense, but they still get you on the shipping. Point is, buying local is still the way to go.

            that they're selling for $63.99 I've seen advertised locally for $70. no shipping. But midway is charging $16.27 which brings the price up to $80.26, and it's backordered, so you have to wait till it comes in. Then, there is buying powder and primers locally, which saves tons of money over buying loaded ammo anywhere.
            However, no matter how you look at it, you're better off buying local if you can, because there's no paper trail when you pay cash.

          • You pay the hazmat fee on powder & primers, not on "complete" ammo.

            I know that doesn't make sense, but that's a fact.

            Have a look at the MidwayUSA website, pick any "complete" ammo, and look at the "Attention!" highlighted box, then do the same for powder and/or primers....there you'll see the hazmat fee:

          • I was cleaning out my storage locker in Joshua Tree to bring it closer to home, and found a big ammo can with a few thousand rounds of .22 I didn't even know I had. And I still have the Marlin Model 60 I bought in 1981 at J.C. Penny's for eighty dollars. I'm happy.

          • Yea, now it's about $100 at the pawn shop by me, but then he's a friggin' thief. But, if it's in stock, 500 are still going for about $50 everywhere else.

  • Can someone explain to me how the children and grandchildren of the Holocaust are not stockpiling guns and ammunition in light of the the "Never Again" Motto?

  • Membership will increase dramatically because of this movie. The NRA should have sign-up booths staged at every theater this movie is showing. It will be an epic event, "SEE STUPID MOVIE, SIGN UP WITH THE NRA!"

  • i heard that Maryl Strep-throat,,Diane Feinstien and Sheila Jackson Lee, are going to have a sex scene in the movie with a pink helicopter drone! YIKES!!

  • Typical... Hey Harvey, start by stopping all productions of movies and TV shows with weapons. Then give away to charities ALL monies earned so far on any production involving guns and violence. THEN when you stop being an hypocrite, let's talk about evil NRA and evil gun owners.

  • I thought Stern was actually pretty level-headed about some things, I wonder how he handled Harvey? I mean, was he with him, or did he maybe egg him on a bit to make him seem even more foolish?

    • Stern is a CCW holder. He's at least smart enough to not be a hypocrite about guns. Whatever his faults, I admire him for standing up for his rights.
