Harvey Weinstein on Obama: “The Paul Newman of American Presidents”

Harvey Weinstein on Obama: “The Paul Newman of American Presidents.” Well, Paul’s career is history so if Obama’s joins it come January, we’ll be happy to buy in to that analogy. We’d also note that actors are all about pretend and fantasy, an apt description of the last 4 years if there ever was one.

Bonfire of the Absurdities: After 35 year career writing software for IBM mainframes, am now self-employed contractor thinking of joining a union and striking for higher wages. Cured morbid fear of heights when I learned to look at them as lengths standing on end. Uncompromising in refusal to accept browser cookies. Amateur investor who has accumulated a small fortune in the market after starting out years ago with a large one. For recreation, I run, hike, kayak and play tennis but will not consider synchronized swimming under any circumstances.

  • Oops, I meant Jersey SHORE. Of course if you've ever seen this show, you know my typo is probably more fitting.

  • More like "The Situation" of American presidents. If you ever saw the celebrity roast of Donald Trump on Comedy Central, or (shudder) The Jersey Sore you'd know exactly what I'm talking about.

    • I saw the roast, all I've ever seen of the Jersey Sore (yes, you got it right the first time) was small clips on news programs. I grew up near Seaside Heights, about 15-20 minutes away, and had my fill of the summer onslaught of rude, crude, and socially unacceptable, people from New York. I don't need to watch them on TV as well.
If you ever get a chance, you should visit Seaside Heights in the off season. It's actually a pleasure to walk on the boardwalk. However, if you're looking for a more family friendly atmosphere, head north a few miles to Point Pleasant Beach. Their boardwalk and surrounding areas are much nicer all year round.

  • One wonders if Fast and Furious might eventually make Obama the Wesley Snipes of American presidents?

  • "On a whole host of issues, you guys are the tie breakers."---Barack Obama to rich useful idiots.

Sometimes I wish Obama is reelected, then turns around and plunders these clueless, effete snobs of every penny they own. Of course, he won't do that, these are Obama's people so he won't bother them, instead he'll plunder the middle class.

Obama is not the Paul Newman of Presidents, Benito Mussolini wold be a more apt comparison.

  • I'd say he's more like the Pee Wee Herman of American Presidents, but Jimmy Carter already has that one.

    • I'd say that Obama is the Alfred E. Newman of Presidents but Alfred E.
is a clueless, comic character, whereas Obama is a sly, malevolent character.

    • “The Paul Newman of American Presidents.”

Old, liberal, and useless. WAIT! That sounds like Pelosi!
At least Newman knows how to make money.
