Here’s the Anheuser-Busch Beer Heir’s Letter of Resignation From the NRA. We hope this turns into ‘this boycott’s for you.’ I don’t like their swill anyway, but if I did I’d switch brands.

  • OK, just for the hell of it.
    My Brother in law works for AB, now Inbev.
    The ONLY product of theirs that I could stand is Michelob, Michelob Light and Ultra. He gets mad when I refuse to drink the crap at his house, and I bring my own. No, I'm not a connoisseur and don't drink craft or specialty beers, I like my Coors Light and that's my primary brew.
    The BIL has met Augie, and while he showed respect for the position, he said the guy was a total tool.
    However, here's another strange thing about the letter, beides the fact that this isn't his name, and as sidekick noted, there is no living Adolphus A Busch, when did you ever see a letter with "Delivered by UPS" under the letterhead?
    There is something else about this letter that nags at me, but I can't figure out what it is right now.

  • My brother-in-law left about 15 bottles of Bud Light here on his last visit. I gave them away.

  • According to Wikipedia, at the time InBev purchased Anheuser-Busch in 2008 the Busch family only owned 4% of the stock. Warren Buffet's Berkshire Hathaway owned 5%. So that's another reason to never drink their stuff again.

  • I know Augie Busch-he is a pussy-a total metro-a nancy boy-and I wouldn't piss on him if he was on fire! This is no surprise-and he, being the ignorant twat he is, doesn't understand the NRA's position-or why they hold it, because he doesn't need to-even if the gun laws were to change in Obama's favor-Augie supported Obama, and would enjoy an exemption, due to his billionaire lot in life. Ugh-another limo-lib douchebag trying to get points from the dictator to keep his dough-only reason!

  • Haven't drank his swill in years. Once I discovered micro-brews in the states, there was no going back.
    Hell, I have been known to spend 12 or 15 dollars on one beer....but it was VERY good beer.

    • Quality is always better and sometimes you have to pay. I don't drink beer, however this is true of pretty much anything.

    • There are so many microbreweries now it must be hurting the big companies. Seems like everybody is making beer, and damn good beer, too. And in multiple types and flavors. I just passed a brand new one the other day - it's huge and has a beautiful restaurant attached and the parking lot was full of customers. No way you're going to get a skunky stale bottle of beer when you're three feet from where it's made.

      • Was a damn fine brewery in Portland OR, called Henry Weinharts. (sp?)
        Made great beer. Miller bought 'em out and shut 'em down.

        Tried the Jimmy Buffet brews, he needs to stick to singing. But if you like a good dark brew, as do I, try the Shakespeare stout.
        But, as you say , there are so many to choose from that try as I might, I just can not try them all. But rest assured, I have tried my damnedest

        Honestly, after drinking micro-brews, German beer really does not impress me. However, if all you ever drank was the commercial mass produced crap, yeah German beer would (to put it politely) put your d**k in the dirt.
        Don't get me wrong, Germans really DO make great beer, but American micro-brews just make it better.

        ** Just re read my post, and yeah, I am an American beer snob, but I can live with that.**

      • I think it is, for once I'd agree with CorporateGreed® boy if he had a lick of sense. Read something last month where they're flexing their muscles in TX or CO pushing laws that quash micros, and winning. Getting their butt kicked and instead of competing, buying the playing field back.

        • I am a big fan of the craft beers. And I'm always impressed when the people talk about their beer and what makes it special. Of course the talk is usually greek to me . . . but they must be on to something because their product is always tasty!

  • Quattro has always been kind of an embarrassment to the family, kind of an inside joke in St. Louis. The Apple may not fall far from the tree, but sometimes it hits it's head and gets a little goofy.

    Do yourself a conservative solid and go to Schlafly brewery and have Paul the bartender pull you an IPA from the cask.....

  • I find it rather amazing hubris that someone who sells millions of alcoholic beverages to people year in and year out is slamming the gun industry.

    There's plenty of drunk driving arrests every year, plenty of people drink and drive and kill and maim. Plenty of people that turn into raging alcoholics who ruin their lives and often their families lives.

    I don't have statistics to back up my BS, but my gut tells me that overall the alcohol industry causes far more damage than the gun industry does in the US every year.

    • It's been my experience that the most common comment that criminals make after they wake up in lock-up and come to their senses is: "It wasn't me." "I'm not guilty!" Alcohol does that sometimes. I've never heard a person say anything like that after ingesting gunsmoke!

    • Took the words right out of my mouth, seen more death and destruction from alcohol than guns, and even when it is guns, alcohol is usually the trigger.
