As a Christian, my job required me to work on holy days, like Christmas and Easter, Sundays, and if I even GOT a break it was a miracle. Do I think that is ok, not necessarily, but why should an employer pay you to pray? They SHOULD clock out, then back in when they are ready to work. Most places offer 2 10-15 minute breaks and a lunch period. That's 3 prayer times readymade. One in the morning, another at night and your covered. And as far as different breaks during ramadan-if you choose to fast, that's fine. Go for a walk, read a book, get with your buds and talk (since they aren't eating either.) A company should NOT have to change its break times for Ramadan.
The problem is your answer makes perfect common sense, that doesn't work well in Muslim-land, or in Liberal-land. they want us to adjust to them, not the other way around. I say fire them. Otherwise are you gonna give Christians the same rights? How about letting Hara-Krischnas wear there following robes in your welding shop? Do Buddhists get to bring in a big statue of the guy with the tummy and all the arms to set in the corner so they can have prayer time and burning incense? What if you have an employee that worshiped Tupper-wear and demanded to hold Tupperwear parties at every lunch break? Where does it end? I don't care what religion you are, don't bring it to work and don't expect me to accommodate you. That should be a personal and private matter between you and who ever you believe in. These guys can pray on their off time. Special consideration for them is nothing more than forcing their way upon us and making us accept them. Where does that end? Next no one will be able to bring lunch from home if it contains pork? They beat their wives so domestic violence laws get suspended for them? Capital punishment to include stoning? Hows the ACLU gonna handle that?
Gee, if I moved to Saudi Arabia and complained that my religious traditions weren't being respected, how far do you think I'd get? Keep in mind that I'm female and Christian.

A simple solution for Hertz, WalMart, all large companies, don't hire Muslims. If they can't find work here they will go back to where they belong, smelling camel shit, living in a mud shack and eating goats.
Muslims, like all immigrants who want to enjoy the freedoms offered by our country, have to adjust. If they have to pray 5 times a day, fine. A couple of prayers before going to work, one during lunch, two more after getting off work. Problem solved.
I find the existence of Islam offensive and disgusting. Where can I file a complaint? Suspend them? FIRE them and don't hire any more. Who wants to ride in a car with someone who wants to kill them?
"Allah Allah Oxen free, give more benefits to muslims like me".....If they can't get a long enough break to pray to whatever kitchen appliance they worship, perhaps they should consider moving to a country that will allow them all the freedoms they require....planes leave every day for the third world, i'll chip in for a ticket.
This isn't about religion. This is about lazy-ass employees using their religion to get longer breaks. It's too bad though that there isn't a place where Muslims can live in a completely Muslim society with Sharia law in full effect.
