Bill's countless rapes and philandering, didnt know..don't remember. Benghazi? Who's he? Whitewater, cannot remember anything. Forgot about her many millions of dollars and claimed to be broke.   We empathized with Japan and Germany after WW2 and that worked out pretty well.

  I think we should follow that template.

    • I'm not getting into the details of our foreign policy. A lot of it sucks. By "pretty well" I mean that Japan and Germany are both (relatively) free markets with a standard of living much higher than most of the world, due in no small part to them emulating us, and/or us setting up, to a greater or lesser degree, an American-style system there. And chances are pretty good that we won't be fighting any wars with either of them, nor will either be producing any significant terrorist groups in the foreseeable future.

        I would say that we should try to go the same route, utterly decimate the country, boot on the throat, and tell them how it is going to be. If they follow the good example that has worked around the world, we should be done with them. If they attack us again, annihilate them.

        • That was exactly my argument with anti-war libs back in 02 (give or take). After convincing them that I want peace too, but just that I want THEM to go first, my argument was who gives a shit who exactly did what re: 9/11. Who gives a shit that technically, we can't bomb Afghanistan into the stone age because they're already there. Who cares if building a democracy is possible or not.

          Just go in there and kick ass until the message gets across - don't F with us. And then leave, but making it perfectly clear that we will do it again and again as needed.

          And yes, if they send the message that they would like to move out of the 10th century, up to at least the 19th, then help them.

          And as for the difference between the Japanese, Germans, and Arabs - the Japanese and Germans don't have a religious-based commitment to hatred, murder, and living in the stone age.
