House leaders to honor Rangel 9 months after censure

On Thursday, House leaders will pay tribute to Rep. Charles Rangel (D-NY), 9 months after the House formally censured the former chairman of the Ways and Means Committee. Gee, in a few more months, they should be ready to celebrate Anthony Weiner with a blown-up photo from his Twitter account. Good thing Charlie Manson ain’t in Congress…. uh, he ISN’T, is he? Of course not, but we had to ask given the way things are going in California these days.

  • Please tell me this is a joke perpetrated by the Administrator and the Efitor to celebrate the beginning of fall. Please. Tell me.

  • Charlie has screwed up, big time; in mitigation the guy won a Bronze Star and Purple Heart in Korea. Nixon had the IRS go after him six or seven times (I can't back that up independently; Charlie's words). He's served for what? 40 years? Bronze Star, Purple Heart, 40 years of Congressional Service...I'm OK with the House paying tribute to Charlie.

    • You can't back up, independently, his service record either so don't use that crap to excuse what a thief does. A lying, thieving son of a bitch is just that, no excuses needed. I don't care if he had the Medal of Honor hanging around his neck, I would salute him, as is proper, then call him a lying thieving son of a bitch for dishonoring that medal, his position and his country.

    • He's a bribes taking deep pockets lieing Congressional pimp just like his son "O". I respect his military srv. time--NOTHING MORE. SCUM...

      • Yeah, he may have served honorably in our military, but he's been a bum in Congress, & he's a taxcheat. What's worse, HE WRITES THE EFFING TAX LAWS, & he did'nt understand them.

        • Well actually the idea that he doesn't understand the laws HE wrote is not that far fetched. Seems Congress does a lot of that!

          • That tells me that we need to nuke our current tax code, that & the fact it's almost 80,000 pages long now. A flat tax would be nice, so would the Fair Tax, & I gots to say that I like Herman Cain's 9-9-9 tax plan. The currunt tax code is rife with abuse, & is written to be abusive.

        • Rangel won his medals in Korea long before he entered Congress, they were honorably won.

But his medals cannot excuse his personal and fiscal lapses while in Congress. As chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee Rangel was responsible for writing our tax laws---laws he failed to obey. Rangel is a hypocrite and a liar who earned his censure.

Forty years in Congress is not a "get out of jail free" card.

Are you still mad about Anthony Weiner...or is it John Edwards?

  • call the azzhats over at Whale Wars. Captain Fatboy can run the Irwin aground and save this beached blowhole before the evil Japanese whalers stick a barb in him by mistake.

  • Sometimes when things just can't seem to get any more ridiculous, they do. Eff the Tea Party, this country needs a full blown, all out revolution. Hang every last one of these clowns from the Washington Monument. The 79 that voted NOT to censure clown boy should be hung by their genitals from said monument.
