How did a plumber’s truck from Texas end up in the hands of Islamic fighters on the front lines of Syria?

How'd it get there? This truck, once owned by Mark-1 Plumbing in Texas City, Texas, is seen here in an Islamist propaganda photo

    • The plumber is pissed! He's been getting death threats because his phone number is still on the truck!

  • Nope, no chance of ISIS operating with Mexican Drug cartels. No chance at all.

Lots of Texans wondering why they can't have one like that....

I wonder if he has "HellFire Missile" insurance?

    • Hmm... a possibility. But I'll tell ya this, when I was in the merchant marine and visiting West Africa regularly, there were a LOT of American junkers over there, fixed up and kept on the road. In fact, I remember this one other ship that carried all junk cars and trucks, some actually running enough they could be driven off, some had to be unloaded with the crane. So it's not terribly unusual that an old American vehicle could end up in odd corners of the world. However... that truck doesn't look THAT old.

Heh heh, there was one big truck I remember well, they were using it to take the cargo of bags of grain off the dock where we were unloading. I was standing at the rail with the bosun, a good ol' boy from Loosiana, and we've seen this one truck make a few round trips, noticeable for a big sign nailed up over the cab. Mind you now, this was in Abidjan (Ivory Coast) or Banjul (Gambia) or some other pesthole along the Gulf of Guinea. Finally, Terry, the bosun, nudges me, points at the truck, and says "Bobby, that sign thar mean anything to you?" Yes it did, but I was keeping my mouth shut. It read simply "If I'd known this . . . "

And the rest is somewhat impolite, but I bet you Suthin' boys know the rest!
