do these lawyers submitting proposals have nothing to do, seriously? in a place like california?
Think about it. If a stupid, loony law is gonna take root somewhere in the US, it'll happen in Kalifornication, (my state of birth) first!
You know, it's funny how things come back to bite you in the ass.... The Supreme Court decision saying that U.S. federal law trumps state law was seen as a boon: one could get rid of slavery because the federal government said it was bad. What a minute, can't get rid of guns because the federal government says they're not bad? Oh, didn't see that one coming.
But what if the proposal was to...legalize marijuana use? Or eliminate the minimum age of consent for males? Or even better (tongue-in-cheek), feeding Christians to lions? You wouldn't see so much opposition. The minimum requirements rule is almost too much, and makes going to California with $1,000 and two cases of bad Heineken for the weekend a tempting proposal.

The lawyer who did this is looking for 15 minutes of fame. What kind of fame he gets I don't know because I am sure the LGBT folks will be calling in death threats if they haven't already. And people laugh when I tell them Kalifornia is really, really F*cked up.

There would be nothing to stop the left from sending all radical commie reps to the convention, and removing the 2nd forever! You know Soreass and Bloomturd would spend billions to lobby the left to do their will.

I bet we could collect the $200 filing fee from the people here at IHTM for a proposal to subject the sitting governor of California to an annual psychological test for sanity, to include a blood & hair test for drug use. Hell, I might cover the whole fee myself. Would you be willing?
Now that I know the official process requires nothing more than a $200 registration fee... I see chances for all kinds of fun.

I'm still laughing at this. If you read on down - "McLaughlin’s plan refers to “buggery” or “sodomy” as “a monstrous evil that Almighty God, giver of freedom and liberty, commands us to suppress on pain of our utter destruction even as he overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah.” Under the proposal, “... any person who willingly touches another person of the same gender for purposes of sexual gratification (would) be put to death by bullets to the head or by any other convenient method.”
So, he's not being picky :)
Better try and find out whether this guy/gal is a practicing Muslim, or not!
