    • I don't care that you do.

      You can support whomever and whatever you want.

      I still have the right to disagree and so do you and that makes us equals.

      However what DOESN'T make us equals is when you and your friends IMPOSE their "rights" and legitimate rights upon me to the point where my true rights are trampled upon. If we are both in a situation where we are not happy or we are both happy but both our rights are protected THAT makes us equals.

      Asking for MORE equality (a la Animal Farm) is wrong.

      Even if the word "marriage" may not have (anymore?) any religious conations or meaning, it HAS been linked to religious/sacramental rituals for all time, to change it now is very arrogant on the part of the alphabet group and their supporters, but okay I CAN give them that their relationship to them is a marriage AND disagree that it isn't, but not get bent out of shape if they call it that.

      However, the questions that SK has placed is important. It goes to true equality. I shouldn't be forced to serve in any business, nor in my home, nor anywhere a blatant and obvious racist for anything. Yes I should be able to discriminate against someone like that. If a gay person doesn't want to serve me because I am a Christian and that HAS happened and the media is very mute about that, I can take my money and go somewhere where I can be served and let them be.

      Also it is unequal when Christians are targeted whereas Muslims aren't and Muslims religious convictions about homosexuals among moderates tend to be the same as Christians and among jihadists is extreme.

      Should it even be called marriage?

      Civil union seems more apt and secular. We know progressives hate religion so why are they forcing gay "marriage"? I think I know.

      • Gay Marriage has been legal since 2003 in Massachusetts. No problems there.

        Marriage is not tie to religion. Marriage existed in other cultures without religion relevance.

        States that allow gay marriage is at 32 now. It's going to be 50 states soon.

  • Huckabee has become the Left's poster child for calling conservatives "extremists", his departure will be more help then hinder.

  • He brings up a point. There are a lot of Christian conservatives that have become disenchanted with the Republican party. Most will never vote Democratic but there are many that will not vote at all. I'll always vote for the lesser of two evils. I feel that is what I've had to do since Reagan. As a few of you have noted, we don't need a voice of division in the Republican party right now. I support the TEA Party but it is not strong enough to stand alone. It needs to infiltrate and help strengthen the Republican party for right now. I just wish we could get the RINOs, which are bashing TEA Party candidates, out the way.

  • He strikes me as someone that could screw up the GOP's voting base. He needs to just lay low for a while. I think he's a good person but not all of his views nessesarily are in the best interests for the country right now. We need to work on getting the senate and the house back without any crazy interferance and distractions.

  • Don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out..He is a perennial wanna be president candidate...Like Ross Perot, draw off enough votes to screw up the country.

  • While I don't think those positions should be forgotten, Huckabee disappearing from the political picture would be just fine with me.

      • I don't care for him because he strikes me as one who says what some on the right want to hear - espousing free market principles, for example - but I don't get the sense that he actually means what he says. I see him as another big government progressive-lite like the Bushes.
