Hungary Built a Fence to Stop Illegals From Coming Into the Country, Says it’s Working

• Only in America do we have politicians, and the fools who elect them, who think a fence on our border will not work.

  • While they live in gated communities with guard shacks! Oh and don't bother to look at all those guys surrounding me with weapons!

• Walls do not work - if your goal is to flood the US with new democrat party voters.

  • Or why did sieges of walled cities take months with no guarantee of success? How many weapons and devices were invented just to take down walls? Some things stand the test of time. Barriers, obstacles, fortifications, and walls are such things.

• Reality once again smacks Quagmire and the rest of those useless assholes in Congress in the face yet again. Fences do stop people, that is if you really want to do something silly like enforce the law.

• Imagine that, there used to be a wall with barbed wire, mine fields, dogs and armed guards just to keep people in. The irony of our 'leaders' not seeing why we should keep some out is painful.

  • I've known several people who escaped from Hungary back when it was communist. A tremendous feat. These same people immigrated legally to the US and obtained their citizenship. Most of all they appreciate the country more then a a lot of people born here and the ones who come across the border and say "gimme." There was no "gimme" back then, they made it on their own.

    • My mother's side are from communist Hungary, mother defecting as a 22 year old running through the woods to Austria. Long story short, her folks (my g'parents) were sending HER money via connections, as they were doing all right with under-the-table business...

      Regardless, they packed up and left as soon as a window opened for them. Why? Because no money on earth is the same as freedom of speech. Here, they struggled and we were purchasing winter coats on lay-a-way. But my grandpa loved to go vote every chance he got. They became US Citizens the very first moment they could. I still remember the day they came back upstairs in their apartment in NJ, when i was still a child, happily waving their little US flags!!

    • Most Europen immigrants fellon therir faces and kissed the ground o.be in America. They couldn't it to.assimilate and constantly reminded their children how w onderful.America was (is). We could use a little of that now.

• Perhaps there are politicians who have difficulty with the word "fence". To them, a fence is a place we get rid of stolen merchandise. Maybe it would better understood as a brick wall!

  There is no need for walls around any penitentiary, they obviously do not work.

  • Thexwalls are . Only theere to.provide a bade for that pesky razor wire. They also help clarify who are the prisoners, and who are criminals that haven't yet beencaught.
