Canada is too big a sissy as a country to do what needs to be done with these people. Make sure they get a fair trial, kill them in a humane manner, then bury them with a tub full of pig guts in their coffin. No heaven, no virgins, nothing but a hearafter of hell.

For the same reason that they don't "speak up" every time an American parent guns down or severely abuses his children.
Most of the generalizations being made on this page are pure BS----an attempt to take the actions of an abusive nut case, and try to claim that they are typical of all or most Muslims. By the way: there have been several stories in the media lately about child abuse practiced by some Christian fundamentalists. Here's one concerning a Christian family that beat their daughter to death, in the mistaken belief that God wanted them to apply harsh discipline. The Muslim is following established guidelines in Islam.
The Bible or the Christan faith doesn't advocate or teach "Honor" killings, Islam does.

Because none of these groups we loosely lump together as "the left" really cares about the cause they claim to care about. Not the civil rights crowd, not the enviros, not the labor leaders, and not the nags. When it comes down to the final choice, statism wins out over their "cause" every time.

It's time for a muslim woman protection program.
Daughters in muslim families should walk a fine line, not cause any problems, not argue, etc. This is regardless of how "normal" your parents may seem. Then, when you're 18, plan an escape. It should be done in a minimum amount of time, and done ONLY with the assistance of non-muslim people. You just disappear one day. And under no circumtances do you ever have any involvement with any muslim men.
Problems with that:
1)What if the now-grown woman continues with her faith, attending services and (in times of trouble) consulting an imam?
2) What if the parents decide to track the now-grown woman down? I'd be willing to bet a new website would start up where names and pictures of the girls could be posted along with contact info for the parents - call it a "national apostasy hotline". This could also lead to "honor killings by proxy"...along with possible "error killings".
No question there are potential problems. The logistics of something like that would be mind-bogglingly complex for the reasons you mention and many other possibilities.
The point was to make a point - primarily that the best thing for muslim women to do is to leave that world-scale street gang passing itself off as a religion. No question that it would not be easy. If a solution to a problem can be as easy as taking 60 seconds to compose a post on a blog, chances are that we are not dealing with a real problem.
Point taken. It IS a good idea - kind of a combination of battered women shelters and witness relocation. Sadly, like some battered women cases, if the abuser wants to find them they usually will...and the results aren't pretty.
