IL Common Core School Assignment Requires Parents to Self-Identify as Conservative or Liberal. We would have written “None of your damn business” on it and asked shouldn’t the title be be “Are You a Communist?”

You know, getting a form like this could be a great teaching moment between you and your child - teach them the value and *right* of privacy from "Big Brother"and how governments can overstep their bounds.
Oh hell no! How can this not be PROVE that the government is overreaching and trying to brand its citizens in order to do SOMETHING at a later date...? How is this different from what Hitler did? Putting stars of david on jews and triangles on gays and whatever else? I mean we are being branded and they are using the kids! You brand cattle, you brand property... people we need to wake the hell up...
Illannoy is a big state. Many people live on the land it occupies. The people ought to go en masse to the various schools that presented this form or anything like it and demand each and every teacher and other educator or official identify themselves as a supporter of communism or any other totalitarian sect bent on the radical transformation of this nation. The people should then act accordingly. There should be blood of tyrants spilt about the roots of the tree of Liberty. Copious amounts of it. Every damned last drop of that vile toxin should be wrung out and disposed of.

I'd send the form back blank with a copy of the US Constitution stapled to it.

First thing you do when confronted with a form like this is very carefully draw little smiley faces on every line - especially the ones they told you to ignore. The next day you start calling the principal's office every five minutes and ask them what your score was and if you won anything. I suspect the forms my doctor asks me to fill out are going to start looking like this.
