But wait ... even if they did something wrong how can they take EVERYTHING and leave nothing to family especially children? That is something that has always bothered me.

The US Constitution forbids such actions. There was a revolution over such things as this. Policing for Profit is WRONG. If the person is suspected of or arrested for a crime, freeze the account or accounts. Go through the legal process and if convicted, then and only then, should the properties be seized. Not guilty, everything is returned, in working order and whole.
Kind of half a story, what happened to the other cases where No charges were filed? I sure as hell hope the people got their money back. This asset forfeiture thing really pisses me off because it does become Policing for profit. And what becomes of the people who have done nothing wrong? Thanks to demotards and their drug using liberal buddies, there is not one piece of currency in this country that would not have trace amounts of dope on it. So is that their claim?

There is a company in Arizona that installs them for the city, and charges you $153 for running a red light, after they shorten the yellow light cycle.
Apparently, I got one of these, but never got the notice in the mail. Now I got a notice from the state that my license would be suspended if I don't pay the ticket plus $100 contempt fee for not paying it before! So I had to go to the county clerk and pay $23 to contest the ticket. The thing is, I wasn't driving the car at the time, I loaned it to someone whose car broke down. Now, I have to take time off from work to go to court to contest the ticket. I think they figure that you will think it's easier to just pay it and forget it.
I will win in court, because the cameras don't take a picture of the driver, just the car and license plate, so they can't prove who was driving, and I won't tell them who I loaned the car to.
