BTW, i dunno if y'all missed the situation we had here with our mayor - a democrat who has a S American girlfriend (and openly courting her even while he was still married). He made a mention of Japanese internment in the same sentence regarding not wanting to accept Syrian refugees.
Here in this town, the Catholic Charities are the beneficiaries of such refugee processing and placement. Now, i have no beef with CC since they handled my mom and so many other defectors during the Hungarian Revolution. My mom was placed with an American family. She went to work and paid room & board and was expected to assimilate, which she thoroughly did.
Today, i think the financial stakes are much bigger, and the industry (like all industries) works to sustain itself. They may not have stocks and profit-sharing, but salaries and paychecks are money, and money is money. People tend to forget that part about money. LOL!
Anyway, everyone was in an uproar over the mayor making this connection to Jap internment and FDR having done the right thing... (I guess that "right thing" stuff changes around every now & then, depending which way the wind blows.)
The Vice-Mayor is looking for the mayorship and the current "guilty" one is looking at doing something else (both older white men, which i find hilarious), so this is - to me - about as friggen organic as the academics who are already retirement age being "embarrassed" and swapped out at the universities by protesters.
Basically, they engage in Salami Tactics Lite.
Anyway, the NY Times wound up getting involved to "save" our little town (where all the major corps are running away daily, it seems), b/c lefty elitists all over America were threatening not to ever step foot in our festival-restaurant paradise ever again!! And we simply cannot have that, y'know, this having been a famous Obama speech town, you see...

Yesterday on FB, I called the ACLU a bunch of reformed, secular half-Buddhists and my phone rang later with their ID... they left no message. Coincidence, likely, but they also constantly find me no matter where i move to, in order to solicit for my "Renewed Membership" - as if i owed them the last 10 years or so. Regardless, someone (entire department??) is paid to track down former members in order to continually annoy them, no matter where one moves to. Luckily, there is no law preventing them from hunting down innocent people in order to shake them down for donations.
Do they mail you solicitations with a postage paid return envelope?
If so, do the same thing I do to unsolicited mail, return their mail at their expense. At some point, they'll give up.
you know, i'm not sure, but i think they do, cos i might've thought about it once and refrained cos it'd be useless unless i return the insert with my personal data on it... that would give them something to sue me over, since that's their business model. (i have the same gene that thinks like them, only i use my special annoying powers towards good, mainly because i also think things through and give it much more liberal thought than they could ever stand to ponder in one lifetime because its light would scatter them back into the nooks and crannies of twisted legal obscurity where they belong.)
Remove your personal data from your junk mail. Send the junk you get from someone offering you a free trip to Florida (so you can listen to their condo sales pitch) to the ACLU and the ACLU crap to the condo sellers. It's just an honest mistake, get it now? (snicker)

When I get several items at the same time, I always remove my personal info, and any code numbers from the inserts, also black out the bar codes on the envelopes, and send the stuff from Publishers Clearing House to the credit card company, and credit card offers to the RNC, etc, etc.
I love filling out forms for companies that annoy me, and also some people that have earned my wrath from time to time, I know there are folks out there still getting free offers from places like Oprah magazine, The democrat party and several companies that sell really weird stuff... :) A local branch of the ACLU has been on my list for a while now. I hope they enjoy getting all the AARP crap.
I also add some lead slugs, they pay by weight. ;)
Use steel, lead is much more expensive/valuable.
Now that I know they pay by weight, I'll start saving the knockouts from steel outlet and junction boxes.

The ACLU was founded by a communist, Roger Baldwin. I have no use for them, & there are plenty of groups who support American ideals. They are little more then a flack for progressives these days.
They've always been flacks for the Progressives, even when they were pretending not to be. There has never been a case or a cause they've aided that didn't further or advance communism in some way in all of their nearly fifty year history. They are comprised of self loathing individuals who would rather we all flushed ourselves down the shitter, with them at the helm, than have the choice to make that decision for ourselves.
They're not about defending the Constitution, but rather using the Constitution against the country in any way they can think of.
