Officials in southeast Georgia are considering a money-saving program that would put inmates in fire stations… to respond to alarms, alongside regular firefighters. They’re considering allowing convicted thieves to go out on residential fires, thus giving a whole new meaning to the concept of “hot” property. And the way things are going, your next fire alarm may be answered by an ex-Obama Administration official.

I see nothing wrong with it. We taxpayers are paying for their housing and food. We are paying for their medical care, dental care and eye glasses. Why not make them work for what they are getting?
I say bring back the chain gangs. Other than the most violent, Charlie Manson types, nobody gets to sit around and watch television all day, everyone has a job. Pulling weeds, mowing the grass, cleaning up around government buildings. Swinging a brush hook and picking up trash along our highways and byways. Bring back state license plate stamping instead of contracting it to a company in Canada, like New Mexico now does.
I worked all my life for what I have and it pisses me off to no end to have to pay taxes so someone else can sit around all day watching television. While I am ranting about this I'll also add anyone on welfare to the mix. I don't mind paying so you have a house to live in and food to eat but you are going to work for it. No more free rides, everybody has to earn what they get. Just like us taxpayers who are paying the bills.

Inmates work the lines at wildfires all over the country. Taking them into neighborhoods wouldn't be a good idea.
