    • What I say is that Bush had six years to find those weapons of mass destruction, and found nothing, even though his administration assured us all that it would take no more than 6 months, probably much less, to finish the job. Just how many more years do you think we should have spent there searching?

      What I say is that I notice all the usual rabid right wing screeds have already fed you guys your anti-Obama talking points, without waiting for the full story.

      And what I say is that, if Bush had been honest and called for a tax hike to fund his oil grab----excuse me, I mean war---you righties wouldn't have been nearly as enthusiatic about it, WMD or no WMD.

      • It's hard to believe there is anyone left in the world so uninformed as to think there were no WMDs in Iraq, let alone that there was no justification for the war. It takes a real commitment to keeping your head buried in the sand to have missed all the various reports detailing those WMDs.

        Even funnier, now that Obama has botched the situation so badly, the UN is forced to admit they are worried about the WMDs still there and undestroyed. One would think that admission would be like cold water in the face for liberals' favorite meme about there being no WMDs in Iraq, but obstinate ignorance is hard to cure.

          You're so funny, JP. If there was such good justification for the war, then why did Bush have to lie about it to get Congress on board with it? If there was such good justification for the war, why didn't he just tell the truth and ask them to declare war? If there was such good justification for the war, why did he change the goals and criteria every two weeks? And, if there was such good justification for the war, how come you righties refused a tax hike to pay for it?

          Earth to JP: Bush's little adventure was neither more nor less than an attempt to seize control over Iraq's oil, and incidentally to enable Cheney's old company to make a killing through no-bid contracts. After six solid years, and leaving much of Iraq in a wreck, no WMDs had been found. Exactly how many years did you want our forces to continue hunting for them (despite Iraq's wish for us to leave), and how would you have proposed paying for it all?
